Lots of learning ahead of me.
« on: Sun, 28 July 2013, 21:58:36 »
Hey, guys. I just came across this place and I'm utterly astounded by the amount of information everyone here seems to have.

Considering that I'm into livestreaming; I'm in the process of picking out a keyboard superior to my Dell pos membrane keyboard. So, I'll ask a couple questions in the keyboard forum pertaining to one's I'm looking at and we'll see what happens.

cheers.

I'm assuming you'd want something very quiet, yes?

Yessir. Something quiet-ish. I've been investigating the QuickFire TK with Browns. But, the lighting scheme on the 10key is bugging me. I'd snag it if i knew someone out there could rewrite the firmware to allow more sane lighting.

If you want something as quiet as a rubber dome, but much nicer feeling you could get http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=topre_keyboards,rftenkeyless&pid=rf_se070s -or- http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=topre_keyboards,rftenkeyless&pid=rf_se170s. However, these are quite expensive for a first keyboard, but I'm worried if you're live streaming that MX Browns may be too loud.

I really like those suggestions, Rule16. I never heard of switch like that. But, bringing up 87key boards raises a question; I'm a huge fan of the integrated numpad on models like the Keycool 84. Do 87key boards have a similar function?

Yes there are a few, including the ones I linked you :P
The only other ones I can think of are no longer available (unless you buy used) such as the Model M SpaceSaver, and the MiniTouch (this one isn't too great unless you get the blue monterrey switches).
