topre vs cherry browns

I've never used a topre board before, but I'm a huge fan of cherry blues.

At the moment, I use a brown filco minila for work because my blues are wayyy too loud for the small room.

I also have a cherry green as my primary at home (broke my blue -_- ).

my PERFECT switch would be something between a blue and a green in force, actuates at 2mm, has a bump at least as hard as a blue, and is no louder than my brown.

does topre meet the requirements?  I saw a video comparing the two and the filco brown in that video is much squeaker than my minila so I'm not sure what to think of that video.

The Topre 45g switches feel about like an MX brown. You like a heavier switch, so you'd definitely want to go with a Topre 55g switch. It's tactile and snappy. However, the blues still have more of a pronounced bump.

Topres aren't clicky and it seems like you like Blues and Greens which click. The stems have 2 parts which actually snap together and produce the click. Topre isn't like that all.

Topre isn't like MX at all. Period. I've tried my friends browns and they feel like reds you took to a beach. Grainy and poor. Topre feels like a high class rubber dome (because it is) that unlike any normal rubber dome, you don't need to bottom out in order for the keypress to register. It is definitely tactile unlike the browns which are only so (in my opinion) when you're typing at terribly slow speeds, bot WPM and actual speed of keypress.

Topre's are quiet and won't click whatsoever. There is a tactile bump, and it's right at the top, then the switch is linear till the bottom. There's about 4mm of travel and the switch "actuates" between 1 and 2mm. Perfect for a light touch typist. If you want even quieter, go with a silent realforce. You can't hear yourself type if you type lightly.

IMO the only part of Topre that feels like a rubber dome is the bottoming out part. That's the only part of the stroke that feels a bit squishy to me. Overall it's a nice experience that is very easy to type on. It's very hard to describe. I'm still getting used to my Topre board, but so far I'm liking it. I also enjoy my MX blue board (currently QFR). I have no other switch comparison to make, but I think the Topre is a welcome change.

You didn't try them long enough. MX browns have a fully reproduceable feel, there's nothing random about them once you get used to them. The grainy feel is just a first impression.

Topres feel nice, clearly preferable to any other rubber dome, but they aren't worth paying a premium compared to o-ringed MX.

I don't get why people always look for a cherry switch feeling in a topre keyboard, this topic comes up once every 2 weeks.

If this is the case, get stronger springs for your browns, or get some modded clears. Try out topre for the sake of trying out a new switch, not to try to replace, or a mimic a cherry switch.

I didn't say it wasn't reproduce-able, I said that it just wasn't there when I was typing fast, and when I slowed down my keystroke I could feel it, but it was minute and scratchy. I preferred my other friends reds all day to them. I have yet to try clears but I have a feeling I'll either absolutely love them or dislike them as much as browns. Hopefully the first one.

You may not like it to switch from Blues to Topre. MX Brown is more limilar to Blue, although Topre is quieter.
The thing with Topre though is that it really feels like rubber. It's a super nice rubber but still... It doesn't feel as snappy as real mechanical keyboard, it's fine when you get used to it but when switching from BS or MX it feels worse.
