I really like the look of the NEO 87 Zelia for some reason. I think it's because it's so minimalist, there's really no frame and it's a 10keyless. It's also pretty cool how high off the backplane the keys look.

I want to try one but I hear they're a pain in the butt and aren't the best build quality.

Now hooooold on for a minute.. those are not good looking :p (jk, but I honestly find them to be ugly)

Simplicity and minimalistic is the best, therefore my vote goes to a black blank HHKB Pro 2 with green blank keycaps on the arrowkeys!

Tesoro messed up - the \| and `~ should have red LEDs, not white :))
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

IBM Industrial mini / space saver with the white-on-black keys of a black M13. Kinda hard to find:

67884-0

I love it... Reminds of the Commodore 64 in a way.

Here's my full-size version: (I do have several Geek Hack IBM Model M keycaps but they weren't on when I took that picture)

67886-1

Daily driver is an HHKB but do find these industrial M with white-on-black keys better looking than my HHKB  :p

Yeah, different people have different taste. Couldn't justify spending over $100 for a 'standard' looking keyboard. The finish on the Tesoro feels very nice and high quality.

They have cherry mx black under them so it's completely fine... it's a nice keyboard now that it's working.

Few of my favourites :

G81-31XX series w/ card readers. Real shame they're not available in G80.

G80-5000

G80-3000HAU. The flagship Cherry board. And his Russian bro, the HAV.

G81-3004SAT. The blue side lettering is just stunning.

356CL. The most elegant custom IMO.

I know there are a lot of hate on Das Keyboard's gloss but you can't deny it looks really nice when clean.  :P

Oh also I owned a Blackwidow Ultimate for about a week before I return it to get a Das Keyboard, despite the hate and quality control issues but you have to admit it looks nice also.

That white Filco with blue lettering is so cool.  Can you tell me more about it? Is it stock? What kind of switches?

I want one.

not the winner
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

From all I’ve seen, this one, _if_ the keycaps had a homogeneous dyeing. The painting of the case seems flawless.

It's hand painted with 10 coats of Urushi lacquer. I think what you consider to be inconsistent "dyeing" is a factor of the sunlight and angles making the cap look darker than the rest. Looks fine from other angles:

Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Ah, now I understand. The difference in color between right shift and capslock is due to sunlight, ok. And the darker and lighter shades on each key is the way it ought to be, kinda Urushi-style.

He's talking about the classifieds section of Geekhack.  People post their keyboard stuff for sale there.

The "Cheat" was a custom board from the Korean OTD community made sometime in 2012, I think.  It is rare by today's standards, but still common compared to the custom boards that came before it.  Its name comes from a dispute in the Korean community between the nonprofit sub-community and the more enterprising guys.  Obviously, they felt cheated when semi-commercial boards showed up using community-inspired designs. (this is a big simplification)  Other Koran buys form the same period as the "cheats" include the SOWARE and Rebel keysets.   They included keys that said "CHEAT" and "CMA" (copy my ass).  There was much butthurt at that time.

It's a very attractive board and I consider it one of the best looking customs.  Customs from that period used simplistic designs compared to the latest Duck or LZ designs.  I happen to prefer the older ones (KMAC1, for example)

Anyway, the Cheat was a limited run, but they usually show up for sale from collectors every few months.  They came in various combinations of red, silver, and black.  There may even be a broken one still for sale from Feng, I don't remember if he sold both of his.

Ah I see, thanks for explaining the history of this keyboard and saved me time from trying to search for it online to see about it. I really liked that style a lot but it seems the only thing I have to get close to that atleast in aesthetics is paiting/customizing my QFR or later on investing a WASD custom or Filco to get a similar look atleast XD. Thanks for your time and really nice keyboard too.

Here is my Phantom Space Cadet style with vintage blacks 62g and metalic black case.

Where did you get those keycaps? They are custom, right?  I'm not sure where to get those custom inscriptions, but I really want them because they're really cool. I ordered some custom keycaps from WASD keyboards, but the only thing I saw that I could customize was the colour of them, and the style of the modifier keys, and the inscriptions centered and stretched. Is there a way to make the colour of the inscriptions white or something like that?
All hail Hall Effect keyboards!
I'm a QFR Blues noob.
WASD keycaps are terrible.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Thanks for the info. I was never too hip on what goes on in the Korean scene.

I have to agree with you on keyboard looks. Love the simplistic ones. KMAC with winkey blockers built in the case is my favorite.
