IPS monitors and 120hz monitors are good for different things. It depends what kind of games or what you use the monitor for (i.e. do you want/need better colors vs 120hz refresh rate). 120hz does make a noticeable diff in games if you can get at least 100 fps though and depending what games you play.

Obviously I need to read a bit more on the subject. I mostly play sc2: hots and swtor. Not really a FPS player.

Then this BenQ should be enough for you.

I bought two BenQ GL2450 24" LED monitors for the same as one of those would cost. As far as i can tell the extra cost doesn't get you much of anything useful, and is a waste for the vast majority of people who buy them without questioning exactly what they need. If you want it for playing games at insane FPS, then be sure you have a pretty hardcore PC and even then you'll hardly notice the difference - especially for games like SC2 which are so poorly optimised that even the best PCs struggle for decent frame-rate and always drop frames. If you want to see the difference with watching movies, why are you buying a 24" screen for movies? Idk. doesn't seem worth it to me. But that's just my opinion.

Can anyone vouch for "FPS and RTS mode"? Any good?

For gaming, I'd opt for the Asus vg248qe instead. It has superior stats (1ms response time, 144hz) and is available on ebay at the moment for $240 tax/shipping free.

BenQ's are generally reported to have superior color, though.
