i have a full filco with reds and yesterday i got a TKL filco with reds. completely different typing experience, can't really explain this :X

the TLK feels a little more stiff i guess, which is a good thing, but still red-ish soft. wow.

anyone else with this kind of experience? i mean yeah, the boards are different form factor, but the same manufacturer, yet they feel really different.

Did you pull a cap off and verify you got reds and not blacks? Just curious.

how old is the fullsize?  new switches in your TKL still need to be broken in.

I have the same experience going from my QFR w/reds to my Poker II w/reds. The poker feels stiffer when typing but it also might be because it's a lot newer.

The full size keyboard have wider legs (because it's longer) and could potentially have more body resonance.  While the tenkeyless have narrower legs = more solid on the table.

That and I heard sometimes even just different production batch can be slightly different.

I have a TK Rosewill with browns and PBT
and a QFR with browns and  ABS

gotta say, the QFR feels a lot more solid to type on.

i always type with my headphones on, because i use them 100% of the time while being home. yes the sound is definitely different, but so is the typing feel for some odd reason

this may be the case, the full size is a couple of months old. i'm not a heavy typist though, mostly gaming, so i doubt i was giving the full size a run for its money, typing wise.

as hyde said, the most probable cause is the different size of the steel plate, resulting in different resonations when bottoming out the keys (which i do), i think that causes the different feeling....it's way nicer than the full size one though
