WTB Cherry MX switch top Removal tool and perhaps some HALP!

So I've got some significant chattering in a few of the keys on my Leopold that are rendering it unusable at the moment. It started after I used some compressed air to blow some dust off, little did I know that despite many people on here recommending that, its a pretty bad idea. 


From what I've gathered, I need some new switches or perhaps to open them up and clean them out, as its likely that some dust etc has gotten in the switches. I've yet to need these sorts of services, so while I'm very DIY oriented, any help would be appreciated. If you guys have some MX Blues on hand, I could certainly just replace the whole switches instead, but whatever you guys think is the best way for me to get this board working again I'll follow.


If there are some articles on here I can't find, its not because I haven't looked, its because there's so many at this point its hard to even look! So if you guys know 'em, link 'em!

I think if you're going to desolder the switches you have, it's worth just cleaning them and reassembling.  If they worked fine before debris got in and started messing up the connection, there's a high probability that all those switches need is a cleaning.

That's what I thought, I mean this keyboard has been rock solid for years now, and it definitely started after the latest cleaning. I took it apart today and cleaned everything quite thoroughly but it seems its still doing it a bit. Not as bad as before but its still not 100%. Its funny every time I open up a text doc to test it, it works fine but in typing this post it seemed like it might still be there lol.

I'll PM Beasty, thanks for the tips guys. Again if anyone has one or some switches that's why I put it here, otherwise it probably belongs somewhere else.

I wonder if you pour high % alcohol into those particular switches and then blow compressed air into them for a while.  Then allow to dry and try using them?
