need help for led replacement
« on: Sun, 08 September 2013, 08:23:09 »
guys, I need help replacing the led bulbs on my razer blackwidow ultimate stealth, sorry because I'm very new to mechanical keyboards and noob at modding. is there an online store where I can buy the exact bulbs to replace my keyboard's led bulbs? or if there is none, may I know the specifications of the stock led bulbs used in this keyboard? many thanks..

I think it's 3mm (my Filco and Ducky are that size). You do need to desolder and resolder the new bulb.

thanks for the reply, diffused leds right? do they have different voltages or specs or does it depend on where you put them into? many thanks for the reply, my keyboard is still less than a year, but razer takes too long to reply to my emails, and also razer has very poor after-sales support here in the Philippines so sad...

Voltage depends on the color, so, same color, same voltage.
Just be sure to put the anode and cathode (positive and negative) right.  :thumb:

And i think yes, diffuse ones.

wow thanks for the information guys, I just wish I could find leds like that in our country or I might resort to online stores which could take months to get the items.. sorry for being noob but is there an indication of positive and negative wires? I'm pretty noob to soldering and tinkering with stuff, that's why I just need to get the information right so I can get someone to do it for me here. thanks guys!

Ebay usually have several sources with free international shipping where you can get bags of diodes for next to nothing.

You can replace them with ones of a different colour but it will require you to also get a resistor.

I want the same color, changing colors would make it more complicated for a noob like me, is it possible you can link an item that is like the ones on the razer keyboard? or is it prohibited here? thanks. If its not prohibited, I would like to link what I saw in ebay too so you guys can check if its the right one.
