qTan's store.
« on: Fri, 13 September 2013, 10:40:57 »
Hey guys,

Just a quick question really, I've just gone ahead and ordered the Keycool 84 - POM MX Red to replace my horrible Keycool 84 with blacks -_-; on qTans store and I'm just wondering what his reputation is like through his store? I've heard he's an amazing supplier for most keyboards, keycool, noppoo, poker, filco etc.

I've just never ordered from him before and I'm just curious is all and if anyone is interested I am selling this keyboard (Keycool 84 with Blacks) here in the classified section, check it out!

So yeah what is qTan like? he got a good service going on?

Awesome guys, thank you very much this puts me at ease.

I bought my old Keycool from mechanicalkeyboards and let's just say, I had a very negative experience, but assuming from your responses, I'll have a much better one this time around.

thanks :D

Have ordered at least 20 times from Qtang.  Would have to rate him an A+ dealer.  However, I've also ordered several times from mechanicalkeyboards.com, and I have nothing negative to say about them.

Qtan is a reputable dealer and he has very competitive prices through his own store. In fact, I have a KC 84 with Cherry mx blues that I bought from Qtan.

After my purchase, I heard that KC might have engaged in some questionable business practices as a splinter group from Leopold. Nevertheless, KC have produced a niche product in the 75% (84-key) form factor that appears to be practically identical to the Choc Mini and similar to the Race but arguably better than either of these products.

IMO, the KC 84 looks and feels cheap, but it performs reasonably well and fills a need for those who want this particular form factor. At first, I rather liked it, but after getting my Leopold FC660C, I do not particularly like my KC 84. It has hardly been used at all, and I will probably put it up for sale when I can find the time to do so.

Well currently the only keyboards that I really like and want to go for are either that of the:

Keycool 84 or the Noppoo Choc Mini and seeing as I have both, in my opinion, they Keycool feels and looks a lot better than the Noppoo, the Keycool feels more sturdy too, like it's not going to break if I bend it, I don't get that feeling from the Noppoo.

qtan is fine :)

Have a read of the other thread linked above - I don't think anyone has anything negative to say about him.

Good prices (actually cheaper to buy from him than to buy locally for me), fast shipping (10 days, compared to 2 to 3 weeks from US), quick response to queries.

Couldn't be better!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
