if they sell out the polo i assume they'll sell the sweater next.

Rather spend that $$ for something i'd want oppose to a polo that im on the fence on.

Eh, I can understand that, but I wouldn't assume. Hopefully they are able to sell more Korean team gear in the future though.

I got one of the polos for the sake of getting one. I figure the value will probably increase over time with it being so limited.

What random brands are on it?
It has the team name and the Title Sponsor.

which is pretty common for jerseys and kits.

United's base home kit starts at $88.00
And you got AON plastered across your chest.
http://store.manutd.com/stores/manutd/products/kit_selector.aspx?selectorid=518

Chelsea's got a big Samsung and starts at $90 on sale.
http://www.chelseamegastoreusa.com/departments-home-kit.html

Even team liquid just has their title sponsor on it for shirts they sell.
http://www.teamliquid.net/store/us/teamliquid/tshirts/teamliquid-team-shirt

I mean if you're gonna talk about sponsors everywhere:
EG's tshirt has all their sponsors on it
http://www.designbyhumans.com/shop/men/evil-geniuses-team-jersey/20637/

Is $65.00 for a polo a little bit on the expensive side?  yeah probably.  Problem is ofcourse the VAT and Duty rates for importing these shirts into the US and EU.
USA Duty for 100% cotton shirt is prob around 19.7% + MPF & HMF (if shipped by ocean).
Dunno where TL's warehouse is located, but if its the netherlands its 12% import duty & 21% VAT charge.

Plus customs fees and shipping, i can see why the shirt's gonna be $65.
Especially if the order was only the small amount of 750 shirts.

Yeah sorry guys there wasn't anything THAT cool at LAN ETS, I got a bunch of stuff for volunteering. There were a ton of raffles but you had to have been not playing or doing anything at the moment which was kinda dumb. One guy won a $5000 PC at the end of the final day... came from Pennsylvania or something.

Otherwise there wasn't too much to actually buy, but I got a bunch of beef Jerky and way too many energy drinks.

Tons of sponsors but nothing super cool, wish there was more apparel.

Also is it bad that I could name every single keyboard I saw? Only notable ones were a Model M, some cherry board with a track ball (the only model I didn't know by heart) , and a Deck (the red one). No customs other than my own which no one got to see ;(

Mostly people had g15s,razrr bw, some das, and tons of QFR and corsair vengeance boards

@ProjectD Meh maybe its just me, hell I wouldn't even wear my favorite football team dress now (3 years ago I would've bought a shirt with brands all over it). I prefer the team logo design apparel, which also supports them in a way + it can be used daily. You are right about the price though, I didn't considered those things but still...

Talking of bad businesses, oh hello football...
But yeah I have the TL team shirt and its nice and they clearly put alot of work into it into making it a nice shirt. That said tbf the football shirts (from what I understand) are made from material that is designed to help your skin breath and is made from fairly exotic materials and has some RnD costs into it too, not to mention the fact that they are usually made by Nike, Adidas etc...

The T1 shirt how ever, is just a red polo shirt from an un-named brand, from what I understand a deal couldn't be worked out with Nike to produce them (T1's clothing sponsor)... at which point they should just have been made in China for a low price and sold at a low price. As it is (again from what I understand) they are made in Korea and shipped (at great expense) to TL who then sell them on.
I'm all for supporting teams, it's why I have so much TL stuff but you can't justify and support foolish and bad business practices... like if they couldn't get the proper shirts made, why bother at all, why not just instead print a standard red tee with the T1 logo on the arm or something and have a quote from parting along with a silly picture of one of his ceremonies next to it?

have you seen their store page now?
They have Medium shirts left, all other sizes are sold out (S,L,XL,XXL).

So i think its pretty good business for them.
Im pretty sure the deal as to why it wasn't officially through Nike officially has to do with the fact Nike wouldn't have control over selling of the jersey.
TL is in no means authorized Nike dealer, so it'll be difficult for Nike to allow this.
Not to mention a 750 qty purchase order isn't big enough for Nike when they deal in thousands+ purchase orders.

The shirts from what is said are manufactured in the same 3rd party warehouse that nike's official stuff comes out of.
Its just doesn't "pass" nike's QC nor allowed to use their patented technology in cloth and logo.
That's why for the plant themselves they're fine with a limited small press of the shirt.

I see it more of a service to get people team apparel instead of nothing at all.
I think TL prob is either breaking even or maybe loses $$ after all the expenses are tallied up.

They make more selling their own shirt for $25.00 than they do selling the SKT1 jersey.
I'm sure a portion of the sale has to go back to SKT1
And its not just Football(soccer) jerseys that are that expensive

pretty much any NBA/MLB/NFL/NHL replica jersey are about $70 USD.
Authentic jerseys (on field/court/ice) start at $150 and up.

From what I've been told they arn't making many of them due to the cost and they arn't making much money on them either... dsnt sound great too me... and yeah huge brands can charge alot becasue they have a huge fanbase...

so you propose they just not do it instead of offering it and seeing if there's a demand for the premium price?

No I propose that they do things that make sense, but like I said I'm not on the inside and am only going off what I've read from TL people on Reddit and TL.
Of the premium clothing brands on the market, its safe to say that alot of there markup is due to the brand rather than the quality right? And everyone else pretty much operates at a similar level in terms of quality and price... well if this is just a regular polo... that they could sell in large numbers... it would make more sense for them to make a similar but much much cheaper version using Chinese companies (for ex) than having it cost them alot and have it being made in Korea...

I think TL and EG are pretty good examples of how you market and see clothing and other merch...

korean companies have a national pride with their stuff.
It could be if it wasn't made by the korean distro, SKT1 wasn't going to allow their branding to be used.

remember, this isn't TL's decision on selling the shirt, you need SK Telecom's permission which i can see why it had to remain in Korea (If you didn't know, basically many south korean nationals hate china lol)

They must have sold out again. At the time that I posted, they had some stock of small and large sizes available in the NA store.

I managed to snag a small for myself :)

mainly not supporting them because i know asian sizes usually run 1 size smaller compared to US Sizes.

So the Polo prob wouldn't fit me very well =P
