Are Ducky keyboards good?

Hey all,

I'm a programmer and was going to get the CODE keyboard as my first mechanical keyboard for work. Being sold out, I looked for alternatives that were close to it and came across the Ducky Shine 3. It seems to have everything the CODE kb has (including backlit LEDs which I think look cool) except for the clear switches (not a blocker for me as I'm cool with brown switches).

Thing is I don't know if Ducky Channel is a reputable company and if they produce good keyboards. So is Ducky Channel legit with solid keyboards?

Apologies in advance if this may be a silly question but it's a big investment and I'd like to make a good decision.

I own a ducky shine 2. I fine this keyboard very solid.

I have not touched the CODE so cannot compare, but i wouldn't blink at the build quality of Ducky's, very well made.

Ducky is fine.

I have two Ducky Shine (version 1) - both are still going strong after more than a year.

Do you want fullsize or TKL (without numeric keypad)?  I am also a programmer, and I rarely use full size board these days.

If you don't mind without having any backlits, then go for filco. Ducky for backlits. Both has no frills like palm rest and macro buttons.

I've 2 duckies here, both are nice. IMHO, nicer than my filco.

I've owned multiple Ducky's in the past and currently own one myself. They are of very good quality that's on par with the best stock other high end brands like Filco. Don't hesitate to get one.

I own a ducky ducky 9008s. I really like love the keyboard over all, but I dont really like the key caps.

When I first started researching mechanical keyboards, Ducky was one of the most common brands that came up.

Just swapped one of my Trigger (Red) for a first gen Ducky Shine DK9008S, this particular unit is more than 18 month old, yet works very well, all the LED's work. The key caps, though ABS, have held up surprisingly well.....with only the space bar showing some shine. That's a good testament to its build quality.....though my Trigger was newer, I'd agreed to the trade because I'd wanted a first gen DS, since I already have a couple of DS2's and a DS3.

I think they're suppose to be very well made/sturdy keyboards, but I don't like them personally.

I don't like fullsize keyboards and I think they look ugly, but if I had to get a full size keyboard? this would probably be up there.

You can get TKL Ducky Shines.  At least you could.  The TKL Shine 3 is supposed to be coming out soon.

I went from razer to steel series and now a Ducky shine 2 TKL i would say imo its sturdy easy to type on but i chose the TKL because i personally don't like full sized keyboards as they clog up way too much room and i hardly use the number pads :) but choice is yours bro ! :D

I am so tempted to venture into their back light keyboards. They all look so cool with a lot of people saying that the build now is close to Filco. Still, when they start to carry a green switch for their back light keyboards, then i'll go on board.
