Filco majestouch minila air us67 buying problems.
« on: Fri, 20 September 2013, 19:22:05 »
I was looking for a portable blue tooth keyboard with cherry my browns, and it seems that the only option is the Filco majestouch minila air. The layout looks a touch odd but I don't expect to have much trouble getting used to it. The only issue is where to buy it. Aside from a couple of random Australian stores, the only two places to buy it seem to be keyboardco and PChome. I would normally just go with keyboardco even if it's a bit more because I can read the language. Unfortunately their website says they won't get them in stock until the middle of next month. I would like to have it a bit sooner than that so I have been looking at PChome. The issue is that PChome only has the keyboard on their taiwanese site (here http://www.pcstore.com.tw/inpad/M14685525.htm) I'm not sure totally sure it's possible to order from their taiwanese site to the US. Can anybody clarify?

Also I have seen mention of a guide to buying from PChome when looking around on this site but I couldn't find it. Does anybody have a link?

Thanks in advance for helping a brand new user.

The Diatec site still lists this keyboard as "Coming soon" (bottom of this page: http://www.diatec.co.jp/en/det.php?prod_c=1468).  Even if you can order from either PCHome site, I would think that they would backorder it.  Also, not sure that the Taiwanese site will ship outside of Taiwan, and the order process is quite complicated.  Can't find it on their international site.

Related, please take a look at my recent post on this keyboard:

Well I figured it was released because I found several Japanese stores (including amazon.co.jp) with the keyboard for sale. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and wait for keyboardco to get it in stock. As to your concerns about bluetooth, I want this for use with my desktop, AND to use with my Android tablet when I'm not at home, so a tenkeyless (if not 60 percent) is a must. The only other keyboard remotely similar is Matias's offering (http://matias.ca/laptoppro/mac/) but I'm not a huge fan of Alps switches. I also prefer the smaller size of the Filco and the brand in general over Matias. While I get that there may be some problems with the keyboard because not only is it brand new but it is the first of its type from Filco I am willing to take the risk. I guess I'll wait and see if anybody else gets it in stock and then get it from a western shop.

I can tell you for sure that this keyboard has already been released and they are on their way to the seller. I just contacted a seller in China and he confirmed that. I was wondering about the same thing in OP. It would be great if KeyboardCo could sell this keyboard on Amazon US.
