What's the difference between the Rapid and the TK?
also you didn't answered to some other questions that i asked like the modding and the O-ring (what kind of O-ring should i buy)
by the way the price differences between the Rapid and the TK in the stores here is something like 25$ and remember that i get that for a gift so shouldn't i ask for the TK?
But i really don't know tell me why you recommended the Rapid please..
The layout is the biggest difference. TK has numpad, QFR has arrow keys and 6 cluster. If you really need the numeric keypad, get the TK, otherwise if you prefer the conventional arrow keys and home/end/insert/etc. cluster then get the QFR. You can always get a separate numeric keypad later on if you need one.
O-rings will slightly dampen the sound from bottoming out (when the key hits the bottom of the stroke), and also reduce the travel distance slightly. I tried a couple of O-rings on a keyboard with MX blues, and I was not too impressed. An alternative is to learn to type without bottoming out.
The reset point for MX blues is above the activation point, so after the key registers you have to let it up further than the point where it registered if you want to press it again. This causes problems for some people trying to double-tap in games (although I did not experience any problems).
You can paint the case - there are lots of threads about that since the recent competition (see the first few sub-forums linked from the main page).
You can also replace the keycaps - this is probably the first things most people do with CM keyboards as the font used in the legends is not to everyone's liking.
Other mods could include making a fixed cable (the QFR, at least, has a removable cable that some people do not like). CM sell replacement case tops, so you can experiment with different types of decoration. Doing anything to the switches is awkward as they are plate-mounted, which means you have to desolder the switches to open them (if you wanted to swap springs, for example).
