Recommendations - Quality board for woman with small hands?

Im trying to help a friend learn to touchtype, but she has such small hands that its really tough for her. I suggested a net book, but she's too happy with her Lenovo T61, can't blame her.

Can anyone recommend a small keyboard, preferably with a numberpad with good quality switches that would be good for mini-hands?

The keys are still fullsize, though.

Maybe look into options for small children?

How small we talking?  My wife has extremely small hands and she touch types on a regular-sized keyboard just fine.

I have small hands. I like the G84-4100 and would suggest she tried one. The new XS range includes one with numpad.

Datadesk make small keyboards for children but they didn't respond when I asked if they were mechanical.

I bought two Cherry ML4100 (same as G84-4100?) from eBay for my wife, she loves the small layout and good key response. Search on eBay, usually goes around $20 + shipping.

I found an ML4100 (yes, it's the same as G84-4100) for $20 shipped. Look for the seller lanaccc. She has about 20 up on her ebay store.

ETA: The ML4100's keys are kind of hard to press if you don't do it straight on. They're especially hard if you press on the bottom of the key. This is improving my typing habit to keep my wrists up though, so it might work out well for you.

Thanks for the tips. I've been considering trying a ML4100 myself, so I'll grab one of these from Ebay so we can both try it out. I wonder if there are any Japanese 'boards that are specifically aimed at women, it seems that a 80% sized keyboard could be really useful for a lot of people.

wow I am a moron I've been looking for a wireless keyboard + stick or trackball forever (i HATE touch pad sooo much) for my media pc and the only thing I could find was a dinovo mini (touch pad uhg).  I totally forgot about all the great keyboard sites that have been posted here!

I learnt to touch-type on a mechanical typewriter and have no problem typing on standard size keyboards. I actually type around 10-20 WPM faster on the Compaq MX 11800.
