Keyboard drivers?

I can't get either of my keyboards, filco 87 or poker 2 working at work. Are there specific drivers for either keyboard or is there a generic driver I can use to install these two in usb within xp?
 (my work uses XP :/)

Perhaps your usb controller firmware is out of date. Try and update it

I have never needed a special driver for my keyboards, under Windows XP, Windows 7, OS X and Linux.

The Mac just asks to press a couple of keys, confirm the layout, and all good.

Linux doesn't even bother with that - it just works.

Windows installs its own driver (some sort of generic keyboard driver, I think), and once it insisted on rebooting before it would let me use the keyboard, which is just silly.

There are drivers for the Mac for the HHKB Pro 2 to enable the special media keys.

Maybe try the keyboard/s in a different USB port, and/or a different computer.  Also try a different USB cable.

he's 100% accurate with reply, just update/unistall old one and put newer driver and check if your're using laptop usb voltage (or if you just don't have tools) connect to docking station ->better voltage.

yeh doubt the IT guy will do that just for my machine - theyll just tell me to restart my pc and try again

allright then f**k it guy, go like this :

1) press start
2) in run type "cmd"
3) in command prompt type " @ HH:MM cmd" where hh is current hour and mm set minute in future
4) wait for that time
5) in new cmd type "mmc"
6) add snap-in "comupter managment"
7) unistall install divers - also if you hate IT guy brake whatever u want:).

Yeah I have never had an issue with driver before.

The only time when things doesn't work is when I brought Matias Quiet Pro to work.  It used something to achieve 10 KRO with USB and apparently KVM switch doesn't like that.

But my Das Keyboard works with KVM so I'd assume Filco should too.

Try using a different usb port. They are not all the same and often on my laptop I need to try a few before finding the good one.

I've found MANY places completely disable USB in corporate setting as it's the only way they know how to stop people using flash drives to take data away... unfortunately it means peripherals don't work either. Are we sure this isn't the case? At least with the Filco you should be able to use one of the purple dumb passive usb>ps/2 adapters.

Try boot with the HP keyboard and whatever you want to use connected, logon then see if your keyboard works? If it does unplug the junk one and you should be ok. XP is fairly crappy about hardware change and install driver before logon on keyboard, even if it's using the generic MS keyboard driver.

Assuming your post made any sense to begin with, I think you mean "at", not "@" … and in Windows 8 at least, "at" no longer works.
