ClickyKeyboards Caps
« on: Wed, 02 October 2013, 18:35:39 »
Sup nerds,

just wanted to report to yall about my experience with clickykeyboards.  so this weekend i was cleaning the caps of my model m.  i washed them ****ers with soap and hot water and put them in a pillow case to dry in my dryer.  caps came out super clean, except one the little hands that holds the space stab bar broke so it wouldnt hold the stab properly. oh no! what is a man to do?!

clickykeyboards.  the spacebar cost me like 5 bucks and i got a few other replacement caps to. i ordered all of this on monday. two days later i have the keys. A+ would buy **** from them again.

i thought about going with unicomp as well but i thought i would prefer to keep it original if possible. the caps that came look like they have a small bit of wear, but it actually is perfect as it matches the wear on the rest of the board.

You started your post with "Sup nerds" which sounded pretty rude.

I'm sure he was just joking.  Relax.  Not a big deal.

Maybe he was addressing his post to these guys:

Now you are just being barbaric. Humanizing the candy then chomping off its head.

Unicomp is cheaper for (standard) caps and for shipping, too, but the old originals are better to fill out a vintage set.

I have bought from both companies, and give them both an A+ rating.

PS - Colored Unicomps are stunning but get very pricey very fast if you are ordering more than a few of them.
Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”

That kills the Model M Handerbeit idea.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
