For a little more than twice that amount of money, you can get one of these and they work really well:

http://www.compusa.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=1032119&sku=M163-1004

They are rugged and of high quality, and are built in the USA.  Note that they'll also suck the keycaps off the keyboard if they aren't seated well.

Or you can use compressed air for cheap and even catch a buzz after you are done cleaning your 'boards ;)

Yes, I was using 3M Dust Remover for removing dust from my equipment but then started thinking about how much I was spending on canned air and also the fact that I was simply moving the dust into different places on my desktop, so I finally opted for the one time expense of the computer vac.  Of course, the vacuum exhausts don't work nearly as well as the 3M does for the euphoric high.

LOL What a joke of an Intervention, must be a real slap in the face to those with real mind-altering addictions. The effects is (not proud to say) similar to standing on your head while holding your breath. It's not "enjoyable" in any sense, and not even euphoric or 'out of body'. Whatever, I guess people gobble down prescription pills for similar effects.

I really had no idea someone could get so high off of the canned air.  I am seriously thinking of covering my nose and mouth the next time I use very much of it...

Some info on Toluene abuse:
http://www.aecom.yu.edu/uploadedFiles/EJBM/19Eisenberg150.pdf

Quote from:
Descriptions of acute effects in toluene abusers include initial "hilarity," exhilaration, and irritability followed by increasing relaxation and lethargy that may progress to coma and death. However, during prolonged exposure to low levels of toluene (less than 600 ppm) depressive symptoms, fatigue and lassitude with depressed reflexes predominate, whereas exposure to higher levels of toluene (600 to 800 ppm) can elicit excitatory symptoms, such as feelings of exhilaration (Benignus, 1981). Additionally, residual activating symptoms of nervousness, insomnia, and agitation have been described during days following prolonged toluene exposure of 600 ppm suggesting a possible withdrawal effect (Schaumburg, 2000).

Quote from:
Toluene interferes with a number of cognitive and perceptual functions both during the acute intoxication and as residual sequelae of high-level exposure. During intoxication, toluene abusers are prone to confusion, altered level of consciousness, and perceptual distortions, including paranoid auditory and visual hallucinations. In the long-term, a decline in intelligence quotients, residual dementia, and persistent psychosis featuring prominent visual hallucinations are observed (Byrne et al., 1991).

Not that I condone using keyboard duster to get high or anything.

I'm an addict, there is no hiding that, but I haven't used in years. And one thing I know for sure is that no junky is going to talk down someone who has a psychological addiction to a nonaddictive substance. Most would concider her lucky because the only thing that has to crack is her head for her to quit. My one true love is morphine. There will never be anything on this Earth I will love as much as it, and it came very close to killing me a few times about 8 years ago. To quit that drug, which is one of the worst to quit, your body breaks and then after come totally down, your mind breaks and you can't do anything about it because you are so weak, and all you do is lay there hoping someone will either rescue you or kill you and you don't even care which. After it was over, I sh*t, pissed and puked black for a week. My organs were trying to make sense of all I did to them while they were bleeding the poison out of my body.

Good times.

And now, years later, I still drool constantly, I'm dazed half the day and there are concepts I will never be able to grasp because of the amount of brain damage I have (most of which was done by LSD, though). My teeth are about $7000 from letting me smile, and I go into random sadness and depression without cause or warning.

So yeah, drugs are bad. That chick had it easier than me, and I'm a fan of that show so have seen the episode before, and as I watched it I knew that she could get over it, so I didn't think she was joke at all. She is lucky, in such a round-about and f*cked up way.

All right, I'm done with my rant. My earlier post in this thread was only a joke.

Man, thats quite a bit of information. Glad you broke free of it. I did a fair amount of mescaline back in the day but thankfully have not suffered because of it ( at least not like that guy in my avatar, man he hasn't even moved in weeks ). : )
At least I don't think I have.
Just curious, but where do you get morphine?
Its not a street level drug, at least not that I am aware of.

I've never tried hard drugs or even extacy due to a rather unfortunate example set by someone close to me over two decades ago, who was hooked on heroine for 5 years. This drug is f*cking evil. There are not a lot of things that frighten me in this world anymore, but the way heroine and morphine change someones personality and being is one of them.

I have never dealt personally with anyone who did morphine or heroin. Though there were a fair amount of heroin users that I got see from time to time. Basically death warmed over. Thats some powerful stuff that I didn't want to deal with.
Weed on the other hand seemed rather benign.

I think we are all weak to a certain degree. Look at the girl with the compressed air cans. She found her god.
Thankfully, I have no addictions outside of tobacco. Can't really handle alchohol but will drink beers on a hot day but only a couple, any more and I am toasted. Here in Florida that puts me at a disadvantage : ) The people down here drink beer for breakfast...
I do like cannabis though. But I am older now with more to lose so I don't partake. I wish they would legalize and regulate it. But I may be in the minority on that one.

So what is your opinion on legalized cannabis?
Do you think that legalized cannabis has worsened the quality of life where you live?
Are their negative societal behaviours due to legalized cannabis?

Here in the US there is a war on drugs that have been going on for years. Yet there doesn't seem to be any progress with it. The gov't spends ALOT of money and fills up jails with drug offenders but it doesn't seem to curb demand.
As we speak Mexican drug lords are waging some kind of war and the body count is starting to add up. I would think legalization would break the backs of the drug cartels  but I suppose I could be wrong.
People are doing drugs either way regardless of what the law states.

The whole USA cannabis obsession (and as a matter of fact, atheist developments as well) is such a non-event from my perspective. On a scale of a tea club with respectable ladies in traditional dresses, armed to knit you a nice sweater on one side, and your average pub, where the atmosphere gets more aggressive as the night gets older on the other, I'd put coffee shops somewhere in between. Possibly closer to the tea club. Fairly innocent. No one ever OD'ed on cannabis. There is no fighting. Disadvantages? Would you like your kid to walk in? (must be 18 though). And the supply chain is still illegal, thus profitable and criminal and not regulated (how clean is it?). Anyway, if someone is against coffee shops, they probably like to drink alcohol. Which is the stronger drug, so the first thing to discuss would be to make that illegal.

Thats kind of odd that the supply chain is illegal. So the cannabis magically appears at the coffee shop? Its ok then?
Is it taxed at the point of purchase in the coffee shop?
What does the state get out of it?

Making alcohol illegal is simply not going to happen. They tried prohibition and it failed.

I haven't heard that theory but its plausible. We all want to do things we are not allowed to do. Its human nature to break the rules.
So legalizing cannabis would take the forbidden fruit concept out of the picture. Now its just another taxed and regulated substance that can be had when you get your pack of cigarettes and 12 pack....
What fun is there in that?
This still won't keep underaged kids from getting their hands on it though.

It's taxed as soon as the leprechauns brought it in I think, but stock may not exceed..500 gram or something like that. Maybe less. Of course it is taxed. Probably triple. If you think your taxes are high, that's nothing.

Thats cool. I don't begrudge the state from getting its vig. Does the state control/regulate quality? Or is that up to the seller?
With readily accessible cannabis to be had do you feel that it increases the crime rate? Do you feel safe walking down a street at night?
Are cannabis users stalking the streets robbing people?

I'd kinda like to try browns, but it's not gonna be soon - I just dropped $230 on a RiscPC. (And I'll most likely be using my trusty 1391401 on it...)

Oh, and if I believed in imaginary friends, I could pass for a mormon - I don't drink, smoke, or any of that (and, except for a sip of alcohol, haven't EVER done any of that.) Hell, I kicked caffeine back in 2007.

Well the Netherlands has a statistical low ratio of cannabis users, lower than the USA and lower than all countries around us (UK, France, Germany...)

The more popular yet illegal drugs like XTC was and cocaine is now are offered on parties and certain street corners and such by dealers, probably the same as elsewhere.

low ratio of cannabis users, yet it is sold in coffee shops. I would think there would be a higher ratio of cannabis users. no?

well it helped that i grew up in a household where smoking was seen as just about the most heinous, shocking thing a person could do, lol. My folks were militantly anti-smoking. I guess it rubbed off on me, all those years of indoctrination on my impressionable young mind.

I did try pot once at a friends place (I wasnt completely a shut-in, in my college years, lol). It was pleasant, I've nothing against it, but again the subconcious indoctrination against drugs of any kind would keep me from seeking it out on my own.

I did get utterly ****faced a few times but then hey, who hasnt.

I think my current addiction is chocolate and too much sugar in my diet, which I've had for several decades, and likely will continue to have until I eventually get diabetes, lol. That'll teach me.

I had to give up caffeine, though I sneak a couple of cups in here and there. Nowadays its decaf. Which mostly blows. But I find the maxwell house decaf to be pretty decent.

Yeah, I went through headaches for about a week. (I went from ~6-8 cans of fake-brand Mountain Dew per day to zero.)

And I had a friend who smokes and drinks caffeine quite regularly, and drinks occasionally, who thought I was freaking insane for quitting caffeine. :p

(I did it because I was tired all the time, even the off-brand crap was expensive, and it wasn't doing good things to my body. If I'm trying to do something like pull an all-nighter, I might have one can, but that's it.)

I've been looking for a decent decaf, maybe to do half/half cups. Maxwell house instant? (they dont sell beans, do they?). I'll have to try it.
I drink instant at home for the convenience. Tasters choice really isnt bad, its about the only instant brand I can stand. Much stronger than the other instant brands.

(speaking of which, I think i'll boil some water :) )

I've been looking for a decent decaf, maybe to do half/half cups. Maxwell house instant? (they dont sell beans, do they?). I'll have to try it.
I drink instant at home for the convenience. Tasters choice really isnt bad, its about the only instant brand I can stand. Much stronger than the other instant brands.

No, the maxwell house I get at the grocers is ground bean. It comes in multiple strengths. From light, medium, and full on. I like the full-on as its richer in flavor but still decaf. Its bearable to drink. Most other decaf that I have tried is pretty nasty.

well that depends on the realforce. I am bidding hard on that NIB mini on ebay.
There is someone else going for it and seems to want it real bad. I may have to back down.
I am still winning, at least right now.

lol.  you'll prolly get your realforce before I get mine, I'm sure. I prolly wont get it till next year.  (Hell i'm not yet sure I want one, tho once I have some excess cash, I'm sure curiosity will get the better of me).
