Hey Geekhack!

Hey,
I'm new to this whole mechanical keyboards thing. I don't have one yet. I tried a QFR at PAX and knew that i wanted a mechanical keyboard. I've been lurking on here and reading IRC discussions for a few months now. I'm currently in high school and we have to do a senior project and i was thinking about modding a keyboard for mine. The requirements are thin. You can really do whatever you want just as long as you can write a short paper about it and present it.

I've seen some of the work you guys have done and i think its awesome. I was thinking about modding a QFR for my first one. I'm leaning towards brown switches because i like the tactile feel but not as much click, but i want to try some other switches first. Interested in clears as well but the QFR doesn't come in clears...
All my friends call me Badsled...

Welcome to geek hack!

Perhaps you could mod a QFR to have clears and that could be your project!!

Or you can do what I did in this thread: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=36652.msg700365#msg700365

Buy a cheap mechanical with fake switches and swap them out for MX Clears.
tp thread is tp thread

Welcome Bob ! Maybe if you start with browns as they're easier to get on ready boards. Just my 2 cents :)
