You probably meant no harm in wanting to trade something for a CC, especially since you said that you're not around here much. I've come in late to the conversation, so perhaps some posts have been edited, I'm not sure. Add the fact that often times text based conversations don't always convey the right context -- humor and irony often get lost in translation -- and it's easy to see how this could get escalated.
Although you may not have intended to do so, profiteering off of fellow members is typically frowned upon which is why everyone's response to you turned so sour. Given the dollars that we all spend on this fantastic hobby and the fact that we are all members of a community and not just random eBay buyers and sellers, seeing someone actively seek to profit from another member is disconcerting.
I would encourage you to browse the
topics that BunnyLake has started. Yes, he's a vendor, but he is but one of many members that goes out of his way to do nice things and help out other members whenever he can. So I think you can see how your comments come off a bit crass when he's simply looking to buy something for a friend.
We all make mistakes from time-to-time. Heaven knows, it seems as if my mouth has the contestant taste of shoe leather.

I just wanted to provide you with a little insight into why you received the response you did just in case your intentions were different than what everyone thought they were.
Hope that helps!
