[WTB] Ducky Shine II MX Clear
« on: Wed, 23 October 2013, 23:41:54 »
Looking to acquire one of these for my first Clears. Love Ducky's lighting settings (I'll be playing with reactive forever), but would also like to get Clears on them.

Couldn't find them in stock, so I'm wondering if any lovely soul would sell a Ducky Shine II with Clears (TKL great, full-size good).
Moderate use is fine, just as long as it's without defects.
If there are actually any still in existence, go ahead and post condition of the board, backlighting, and price (or PM me).

Thanks a bunch, really excited.

Good luck finding it, it's pretty rare (limited edition).  I only know of Ray and myself with them, and one more person used to have one.  It's really a GREAT keyboard--has converted my OH into mechanicals where other keyboards I'd offered had failed :)

Myself included with the aforementioned company.

Also, something for your personal knowledge... they never came in TKL versions, only full size.

Anyone call? ;)

It's a great keyboard! Just so you know though, they don't have all the light settings the Shine III's have. My video should demonstrate for you the different light settings Shine II's have. Sorry for the low quality video :))

Thanks for all the information guys. Man, just makes me want to have it even more, fullsize or no.
Very sad.
But I see that it has the reactive lighting based on where you click, and that really was the only one that I wanted.
I'm guessing that nobody would mod a Shine 3/Shine 2 with Clears for me?

You'll probably have a hard time finding someone who is willing to mod a fully backlit keyboard :( It's not really a project anyone wants to take on because of having to desolder all those LEDs :)) Desoldering LEDs is probably one of the most tedious and irritating processes... ever. But it won't hurt to ask some people!

Agh, just realized that. What shall I do? Why must the seemingly most desirable switch be so hard to get?
Please, keyboard god, allow me an MX Clear board..

^^ love this board, these clears feel so good and I've tried a few different boards with clears and for some reason these feel better, stabilizers aren't too bad either. I tried to sell mine once got no interest....but it's a keeper now!!

If you do find one make sure you get some cherry/GMK key caps to try, not everyone's favorite but I'm loving them.

why not open a classified looking for a CODE keyboard? they are stock clears, but the lightings AFAIK do not have modes other than just different level of brightness.

They have quite a few, but the one I'm most interested in is the reactive lighting mode. There are also other more gimmicky modes, but that one stuck out to me.
I actually found that someone would be willing to change out a Shine 3 TKL's 33 base keys for Clears, so I'll probably end up doing that.

The Shine II has the same mode where it will light up the LEDs only on the keys where you type... isn't that what you want?

It is, that's why I said Shine II/III. However, it's a bit difficult for me to find a TKL Shine II, given that they're sold out about everywhere except in MX Blacks. Given that I need some time to get my money together, it would be good to wait until the Shine III TKL is out in a week and get that instead.

Ah my b, thought it only said Shine III. You could also try posting for the Shine II w/ Clears here: http://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket

They did have quite a few Shine IIs w/ Clears it seemed when I bought mine so maybe some people on Reddit bought one and would be willing to part with theirs.
