I'd always wanted a Leica if I had the money. Not just any Leica. I'd want to customize it from Colorware. :D

Something that I want, but can't justify buying would be the Gon NS 87. That $400 pr is tag!

I would buy that if i had the cash.

But what i cant justify is the HHKB type-s
I was barely able to justify why I want new boards and what they are like to my parents.... They keep saying like oh you're addicted! Which in some ways I might be.... But I know for a fact that I am typing quicker from when I have been practicing on browns. This teenager budget sucks.

30" 1600p monitors, because I already have 27" 1440p's.  A good DSLR to upgrade my Panasonic Limix FZ-47, or at least something with a larger sensor.  A few different mice in the $80 range.  Good headphones.  A super high resolution convertible ultrabook (like a Lenovo with ~3000xSomething 13" laptop).

On the keyboard front:
Dolch set, BSP dye sub set, a titanium spacebar, GirlDC caps (I'd love a rose gold cat).  Owning more than 2 keyboards without feeling excessive.

XBone also has Fable if that's what you're into. I'm going PS4 based solely on what I've been reading. I would love to stay with Xbox but the PS4 has more power and potential. Plus I have never liked Halo so that's made my decision pretty easy. Who knows, maybe one day I'll own both. They'll be around for years.

An article about the differences, though somewhat subjective--I think PS4 has the edge, unless you only play at 720p on a TV or projector

Fujifilm X100S

A friend has one that I've borrowed, and it's good enough (for what I shoot - mostly kids/people) to make me sell my SLR and lenses for good.

Yeah I used to have an X100 but the AF was absolutely horrible on it. Damn shame because the pictures were really nice when it actually locked focus.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I'm still shooting with the x100 as my main camera (since it was first released, so I know what you mean about the AF), and the firmware since v1.3 had improved things vastly (2.0 is already out). Wouldn't mind getting a x100s, but I can't justify the upgrade as the x100 is still serving me very well.

On topic: Probably a datahand.

Any CC.  I can't see spending the same money on keycap as I would on an HHKB.  Thats retarded...  Even $40-$50 ones seem a bit crazy.  You can't even use it, just look at it...

I also can't justify spending the money on a retail HHKB for that matter.  I so want to be able to justify it, but I am having a hell of a time getting anywhere on that one...  But Topre...  But you already have an FC660C...  But its so pretty...  <review CC argument>  damn...

Or CAN you justify it? Think of all the things you could fab.. ;D

Not on your level (and not metal), but I've toyed with the idea of buying a 3D printer for months now. I just can't justify it because there's NOTHING I actually need it for - I imagine I would just print strange shapes all day long. Not the best use of my money!

Is that a 35mm?  Man talk about outdated tech.

Nope. Top of the line full-frame digital SLR with a classic body design. Lovely.

And czarek, I would LOVE one of those in my workshop. Like you, hard to justify. If you have a lot of time, some money to spare and skills like this guy, you can try DIY: http://www.5bears.com/cnc.htm

 ;D

Not nearly as professional, but can be as accurate if you choose your parts right and build it carefully.

Realforce 87U Silent

I need a silent keyboard for work and I know this would fit the bill. However I'm not sure if I would like the variable weighting... and that's a lot of money for me to "test it out"

same here! im trying to find out what the "silent" mod is. If its the same as dental bands on an all 45 or all 55 id rather do that. Or is silent something more silent then that that you can only get from factory? I need to be quieter than my browns w red orings.

I have both silenced and non-silenced RF 87Us.  A few observations:

1) The unsilenced is no louder than a typical membrane keyboard that everyone else at your office uses.  In fact, it's quieter on account of there's less rattle.
2) Dental bands do reduce key travel a bit.
3) I find that the variable weights aren't all that different from a 45g uniform.  The main difference I find is that if I rest my fingers on the WASD while gaming, I can accidentally actuate the 'A' because it's so light.

Wish I could justify buying a new seat of headphones, as mine are good quality but falling apart. Although overpriced, the new Beats Studio feels well built, mostly metal, but I remember browsing through the Microsoft store and finding some with the same quality but better price.

O_o

Speaking of that, I'd like to get DT990s, but I don't have use for 3+ pairs of headphones.

For me, it's been more about determination since I decided against getting an FC660M because of the ergodox earlier this year. I want to get a Kinesis V3 stand for my ergodox, some thick PBT keycaps (SA profile would be lovely), nicer cables for both ergodox and HD 25 headphones, OpenPandora, a big&thick desk-/mousepad,... However, it's too much hassle to order it. I'm way too lazy. ;_;

Keyboard related:  I can afford but still cant quite pull the trigger on a HHKB and I would love to see a CC in person.

Non-keyboard - too many things to list!
Currently using: Cherry G80-1800 Ergo Clears, HHKB Pro 2, RF 87U Silent

You can never have enough headphones. At the most I've had like 30 pairs..

I'd love to find a pair that doesn't eventually break at the plastic joint that attaches the extending metal part to the ear part.

I just got a pair of Sony MDR-V6 and I hope they last longer than my last few pairs!

Nah, I had that mindset until few months ago, but that's over. I want to keep just something portable, something comfortable and a spare one. In case of keyboards, trackballs and mouses, headphones or whatever crosses my mind.

My MDR-V6 cans have held up insanely well. I highly recommend getting the Beyerdynamic replacement foam pads, because the faux-leather ones are just not very comfortable and will fall apart eventually. I bought mine in 2002; they still sound great, and you can't tell that they've gotten ten years of active use.

Thanks for the observations, this might change my purchase...  :thumb:

I hate the joint used in most headphones. One of the redeeming qualities about the new Studios that I saw was that they have metal joints.
