HHKB Pro 2 is happier hacking ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

dedicated arrow keys. I'm a fan, but I'm in the minority. It's a very nice membrane keyboard actually. So until I get an FC660M, this'll be my keyboard.

If you want one there were two listed in the classifieds here, like ... a month ago? Might still be around.

According to amazon this a membrane board.... Is it topre?

HHKB light= Regular rubber dome with a cool design and smart layout. Overpriced for what is is. If you enjoy mechanical keyboards; you will be mad at yourself that you spent that money on a rubber dome.

HHKB Pro 2= Topre switches with an even cooler design and smart layout. Overpriced for what it is. If you enjoy mechanical keyboards, you will be mad at yourself for probably abandoning your Mx switches after falling in love with the good feeling of oneness with cup rubber.

Oh ok. That's what I was wondering. Why is it so expensive for a rubber dome?
But anyway, time to be putting some money into the piggy bank, stupid high school budget.

The same reason an Audi costs more than a VW; more prestige, style and perceived quality. All those factors are completely subjective, so if you don't need all wheel drive, the exclusivity of a premium badge and higher engineering standards; you get the VW, drive to Best Buy and get the Logitech ;)

I'm not being a snob. I loved my 2011 VW GTI... just using it as a reference.

Great car! Scary engine, though. My mom's 02 S4 has gone through 2 sets of bi-turbos in its lifetime along with many other niggling issues. She still owns it though and it looks and runs brand new.

I've had my tranny blow on a road trip form New York to Miami.... The original owner left the window open when it was raining and ruin tranny computer. Safe mode all the home.... Had to change valve cover gasket too. Next is spark plugs, oil, and fuel pump. Original turbos.  :D

Your mom has an S4 twin turbo? sick! Usually only tuners have those cars. Every tuner knows to have a backup car as well. Those turbos go out on all of them and everyone upgraded to K04s and bigger intercooler, etc Thats sick.. love that car!

Yea, my whole family are car geeks. She only drives a stick shift and had my dad hook it up with APR stage 1 (exhaust, air filter, ECU recalibration). It's putting out around 320hp and 360lb/ft torque in that guise, if i'm not mistaken. They take immaculate care of their rides... You can literally smell the leather 11 years later.

RS4 K04's would be sick... She's in the market for a new car. They told me I have the first right of refusal to buy from them for cheap. I convinced them to get the car in the first place way back when, so I'd hate to see it leave the family. I just don't know that I can justify that expense... What would happen to my keyboard budget??? Sacrilegious.
