Black and Blank PBT Keycaps?
« on: Sun, 17 November 2013, 20:22:04 »
I know there has been dozens of threads about this, but all of those links to site that have them are all outdated/no longer in stock. I always thought these caps would be popular, but no places stock them! I don't want those 37-cap sets. I'd like a full 104-set, oh, and 4 blue ones for WASD  :p

I checked Ebay, and that only has ABS. Ducky sells a set of them, but only around 40 caps for $40.  I found this site: http://keycapsdirect.com/marketplace.php , but they're DSA PBT caps. Is there a difference between DSA PBT and "normal" PBT? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a newbie, I'm not allowed to post in group buys  :( and in regards to your FAQ, it states they're thin and are tight.  I did a bit more searching on the site and found this: http://www.keycapsdirect.com/key-caps.php Apparently I have an interest in KT keycaps (high profile<3, but they seem even harder to find.

you can click the order link and fill it out still though I'm sure.
It'll be a set worth waiting for.

Although you cannot post a new thread until you have 60 posts, AFAIK you can respond to an existing thread.

Or is this no longer the case?

he's still in single digits, so he's actually on 'captcha before posting' status.  that might also block the marketplace.

you definitely don't need to wait for 60 posts; i was posting in classifieds/gb well before that.

but...do you even need to post in GBs to order?  cause the order form is in the OP.

And it states that newbies are unable to create new threads in classifieds or group buys. I don't exactly know what deems a section as classified excluding the group buys.

Generally the whole marketplace - classifieds, group buys, great finds (although I think you can post new threads there) and interest checks.

Oh, my apologies for creating this thread then. However, I'm not exactly buying stuff from users (assuming that newbies are considered unreliable) but asking for links to external sites that sell them.

I don't think Ivan would exclude you from his Group Buy. I reckon you should sign up for it, the more people we get placing an order, the easier it will be to meet the MOQ and the greater the chance of actually having them made.

Be aware it will take some time to get all the orders in, get them made and ship them out, but I think a set of thick blank black PBT caps is worth the wait.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Buying is fine. You could just PM someone to buy their stuff... & any seller is going to get the money from you in advance anyway.

& as said if you don't mind waiting to finish collecting payments around ~January 15th, join in on the groupbuy. It could be earlier... as soon as the minimum order quantity (400 sets) is met. Or if the MOQ is not met it wont happen :\ so join!

As another option, banggood.com sells Keycool's 87-key (and maybe 104?) set of blank black as well as white PBT at a very low price, less than $18 I believe, which is more than most 37-key sets sell for.
It's medium thickness, thick enough to feel great, but thin enough to let backlighting through.

I believe they only have blank white PBT. The blank black set is POM. Still nice, but it feels a bit different from PBT. They have Grey PBT also, but they have legends on them.

That's odd, when I checked now there aren't any, but when I ordered at the beginning of the month I was certain that they had them. Ah well. And the Grey PBT has engraved letters.

You are certainly welcome to order in my groupbuy if you wish. Someone doesn't even have to be a forum member to order for that matter.
