I'm become elite right now

waiting for my first HHKB.....

Congratulations - that makes you a Scrub. The lowest of all ranks.
You're now allowed to carry water and oil the fighters before they go to combat.

We also have invoiceable and non-chargeable mods, but I couldn't make anything out of that.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I got it a while ago and have been using it for about half a year now, and I've been loving it.
It also saved my wallet from MX keycaps (although I might get a set of blank dark grey caps for it now that I'm used to the layout)

HHKB Pro 2 is my daily since about one year and a half.

Here's a crappy pic I just took where you can see, in case you wondered, that it is indeed a bit smaller than my Model M (which I don't use anymore)  :)

i DO like rubber domes.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

sorry bunny, the best I can manage is a faux topre (Cherry blacks with orings and PBT keycaps).

Am I to be classified a HHKB fake?  :))

i would like to start by informing everyone that 26% of this post is joking

i would like to propose a petition, a very important petition

it has come to my attention that we like to make things very clear and upfront on this forum, we signify vendors, mods, elders, previous screennames including demiks true identity, demilk, and even some ssk users, but we are missing some, the custom title to let everyone know who are the members with the finest of tastes, the people who have found greatness, in short, the MASTERRACE

what i propose is this, a selection of cutom titles for owners of happy hacking keyboards, no i am not merely suggesting one title, there is a pecking order, but anyone who gets a title, will be easily identifiable to other forum members as the best of the best

the titles i suggest are these

HHKB Master (your leader)
HHKB Overlord (the real leader)
HHKB ELITE (Type S users)
HHKB Pro (Pro users)
HHKB Jp (jp users)
HHKB Scrub (lite users, yes i didnt forget you)

the way the forum currently stands, it takes a lot of research to find out these god tier keyboard users, and we are hindering ourselves as a community

now i understand this system will take a considerable amount of admin work, and there will be many many fakers trying to claim there oneness with cuprubber (and rubber domes, you cheaky lite users) and i will volunteer my services to personally check each and every member claiming there oneness, i will check classsified posts day and night to make sure a member doesnt let go of there hhkb during some sort of breakdown, yet still claim there tag, afterall, we cant have people thinking non masterrace people are masterrace, and i will contribute funds as needed to help the admin staff with the difficult duty of copy and pasting these tags into the custom title field, i would even volunteer my services

so people

whos with me?

Change all nonhhkb user's titles to cherry peasants.

Although not every non-HHKB user has a MX keyboard.  Some might have RealForce.  Some BS.  Some Alps.
In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

if it's not a hhkb, it doesn't matter. they shall be deemed mx peasants.

Fair enough.

NO realforce love T_T

This is for HHKB, sir. All Topre are not created equal.

But what about those individuals who switch their 55g RF rubbers into their HHKBs? Also, is there a tutorial for doing this? Seriously considering the HHKB if I can get a 55g switch.

Aw! I'm looking forward to being an 'HHKB Scrub' or whatever the appropriate title is for HHKB Lite.

Incidentally, I blame you scrubs for my buying a Lite. It was 4 years ago, but you were all supposed to convince me to spend lots of money and buy some nice Topres. That way I could get a classy title too.
