Potential WTT LZ-GH grey aluminum case for the black one.
« on: Thu, 21 November 2013, 22:23:28 »
I'm considering purchasing the LZ-GH on the board here but one of the things I don't like is the grey case. If I were to buy it, would anyone be willing to trade their black for my grey? Just trying to keep my options open. Thanks.

you could always anodize it to a color of your choosing  :)
Keyboards:
'The Cheat' - lubed 62g Clears

I asked Alaric about that but he doesn't know anyone who could do it and frankly neither do I. If I were to buy the board Id just want whoever to ship the black case to Alaric so he could replace it for me while doing other modifications to it. I would ask him to change the leds, and possibly modify the cherry stabilizers. I need to do more research but I've read that non modded cherry stabs can be mushy (of course it's a matter of preference too). I wonder how the modded cherry stabs are. The little I've read points to them being just as good as costar. I also need to determine if the LZ-GH case is a well built case that stays flush and isn't crappy like, from what I understand, the filco aluminum made by vortex. I may just be better off waiting a while for a newer version (some LZ red something rather - but it's not actually red) but I don't know what the differences are and whether or not they are worth the wait / price difference.

the LZ line of boards is incredibly well made and some of the most sought after boards on here (LZ-S, LZ-SE).  Don't worry about it being well built.  Anodizing will have to be done either by mistakemistake(i think he can do it) or somebody local.

So the GH is well saught too? I'm surprised no one has bought the one up for sale yet, especially for the price. There's a new model coming out, but I can't find the damn post / information about it. I saw it the other day - red somethingrather. I'm curious as to whether or not I should consider waiting for that instead. The case looks really really cool.

Regardless - if anyone does have a black case to trade for the grey, please let me know.

LZ-FE is the newest one I can find.  There's also the LZ-CE but both have their orders closed
