[SOLD] Custom QFR Ghetto Greens
« on: Tue, 03 December 2013, 21:32:09 »
SOLD

I want to sell this Quickfire Rapid with Ghetto Green Switches, sorry for the wall of text that will follow.

To be honest I have no clue what to sell this thing for so if you are interested don't hesitate to throw out an offer(I suggest you just private message me with offers so nobody feels inclined to top each other because my intentions are not to start some sort of bidding war since this is not an auction). If it was anything else I would throw a price on it and be on my way, but this keyboard is customized and as a result it is somewhat hard to appraise.

It started out as a stock quickfire rapid with mx blues but then I added the following

80g originative springs
black switch stickers
white pbt keycaps from banggood (used only a couple times)
Custom painted plum crazy top with clear coat
custom painted white top (I didn't put clear coat on it)
Stock black top
I also sanded the mounting plate so it isn't black anymore

The keyboard has not been used much at all, I am selling it because I realize owning two of the same keyboards (quickfire rapids) with very similar switch types was a bad idea as it is really hard to choose which one I want to use.

As for the white top, I do not have any sand paper above 1500 so there are very slight scratches if you want to call them that running along the surface of the keyboard. The top piece has full coverage but the inside walls are not sanded all the way smooth because when I was trying to sand them a small but not visible portion of the white paint was rubbed off. Neither of these tops was professionally done and as a result they have minor flaws if inspected incredibly close. It does not have a clear coat on it if that matters to you.

I sanded the mounting plate down to bare metal and put a coat of white lithium grease on it to prevent rusting, I think this turned out great. Just be sure you know that if you were to wipe down or clean the plate you might have to put more rust preventing material on it. I wasn't able to remove some of the black from the front and back curve of the plate so there is a black stripe where I couldn't do it.

This keyboard comes with the original box and accessories like the USB cable, the USB to PS2 adapter, red wasd cluster, keycap puller and cooler master windows keys. If you purchase this keyboard with more than just one top piece I will include a cooler master top piece removal tool.

Here is a ton of pictures of it for you to refer to

More

This top is painted with testors official metallic plymouth plum crazy purple with a layer of clear coat on it. The clear coat has a bit of orange peel (I think that is what you call it)
The paint is unique, it can look more pinkish to light purple in some light and at other times look dark purple. As far as I can tell there are no real flaws in the paintjob and I am pleased with how it turned out.

You know, I'm not very knowledgeable on these sorts of things so I can't really put a price on them. But, I've got a buddy who knows all about these kinds of things so how about I call him up and he can give us a ballpark price which will more or less work more for me than you and then I can turn around and sell it for 200% profit.

Okay, I just gave it consideration

Keyboard with white or stock black top- $80 before shipping
Keyboard with purple top- $90 before shipping

I think this price is fair and I would be losing money either way on that.

Lets make it happen folks!  :)

Bumpity, op slightly updated, I removed the little bit of rust from the plate so that is of no concern anymore.

I think I would like to sell this with the purple top since it really is nicer than the white, there is really nothing wrong with the white top but I am very critical of my work and I think the purple just looks nicer.

MOAR PICS (of the purple case)

I listed it to ebay, I am just going to sell it with all the tops and just get rid of it, I hate having it just sit around..

It's still on ebay, listed for 75 bidding with ALL the tops, that is MUCH less than I have into it.  :thumb:

Different tops

You can price it out, there is a lot into this keyboard, not that I am going to get it all out though.

Sorry blusey.

I offer 5-10$ more than the other person :P, can you ask the buyer if he'd be interested in selling just the purple top plate?
