TA Royal Alpha 610 $30 +shipping (no bids yet)

If you want some Green on Grey and White on green thick ABS doubleshots, some with dyesubbing, this could be a good deal for you as long as no one else bids and depending on shipping costs to you.

The Deskthority wiki confirms that in case you were wondering.

Sadly this auction is now over. Anyone here get it?

edit: guess not, ended with no bids. Maybe I can contact the seller about shipping just the keycaps to me at a lower price. I still regret selling my set.

The DT wiki entry was added after I updated the GH wiki article on the same subject.

Edit: auction is actually for an alpha 610, not an alpha 115 as the thread title indicates.

Making sure you know where citations come from is important to me, so you can better judge their trustworthiness.

having owned a slightly larger set from a very similar typewriter: all these keycaps are likely to be doubleshots.

They relisted it here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=121235867006&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

Of course, after I enquired, they jacked the price way the hell up and made it free shipping.  Previously it was $30 opening bid + shipping (~$30 for me).  This is after it not selling some 4 or 5 times at $30.

And totally derped on the title.  I think I was looking at another when I wrote it.

I contacted them and it sounds like they'd be willing to send just the caps if that's what you wanted, just for anyone interested.  Personally, I'd grab the PCB, switches, and caps just because it should have some interesting switches.

If they can't sell at $30, why do they think they can sell at $80? Most people look at the headline price, not the free shipping part - that's an extra.
Most of the modding can be done on your own once you break through the psychological barriers.

No clue, especially since they've been listing it for a month now.  It's been up 5 times at $29.99 + $35.19 shipping to me.  Some people get dollar signs in their eyes.

It's probably because the two Alpha 115's sold so quickly as well I'd say, they wouldn't realise the difference in Code keys.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.
