Even cheaper than the last one and once again they don't ship to Australia. If anyone wants the alphas cheap I'll go you halves on the total cost if you let me have the Code key :)

It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I'm willing to split the shipping if you part with that Code key :P

I asked the seller if I could buy it from them since they listed it several weeks ago and it never sold.  Please don't buy or make an offer on this since I actually went through the trouble of getting it up again after seeing it go unsold.

I can post a screenshot of my message if you don't believe me.

Feel free to hit up this person to do the same for a different model though:

I posted it last night before it finished, but apparently it needed moderator approval for some reason.

4 people viewing per hour...I'd say someone is going to buy it regardless.

Probably people from here.  It would just really annoy me if someone else got it since I did the legwork of searching for unsold ones in the past, hitting up the seller about it to buy it, and finding out how they'd like to sell it since I'm interested in something that went unsold.  I mean, I already put my offer in for it last night for the price that they told me to.  Unfortunately, they haven't accepted it yet, so I just don't want anyone else putting in to grab it out from under me.

Yes! I got it for a hair over $37 shipped.  Thanks for being awesome Photoelectric and letting me get it instead of pursuing it.  Apparently two other people beside Photoelectric had contacted the seller after I put my best offer in last night after getting them to put it up again.

And for anyone still wanting one, there's this one that you might be able to get for cheap still:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROYAL-ELECTRIC-TYPEWRITER-ALPHA-610-IN-CASE-WORKING/121235867006?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D19050%26meid%3D3403823028736423736%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D8643%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D390719697149%26

and there's someone locally with an Alpha 600P I've been trying to talk down from $75.  If you're interested in the 600P, PM me the most you're willing to pay (shipping included), and I can hit them up again and see if they'll go lower.  They already said $40 is too low.  They may be willing to go down to $60 or may be a firm $75.

Congrats nubbs, fingers crossed I find another 110 sometime soon! Getting a little bit tired of finding them and then realising they don't ship to AU :\

Oh and BTW be careful with those 600 series Alphas, the CODE keys are slightly different size to the 110 so they'll only fit Ergodox's.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

  • Missed another sale.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

But that has a non-standard size Code key.

Also ... Shipping: $159.40 USPS Priority Mail International

You can always get someone stateside to proxy you the important parts.  And, like I said, I have one locally that I can get for ~$75 (don't know if I can get them to go lower) and I'm talking to the guy with the 610 and it sounds like he might be willing to sell it cheap too if you just grab the PCB and switches.  The PCB would be worth it to me just since it uses older and rare Cherry M9s (though I think I've seen some people say theirs came with MX), which would be fun to include with the community switch try I'm making.

oh wow, are the alphas green dyesubs? my set was doubleshot. I'd love a set of green dyesubs. you'll have to post pictures when it arrives.

Yep, the caps are mostly dyesubs (only the white on green caps are doubleshots), here's a couple macro shots from my set:

Before I got an LZ I was using the alphas from this set on my old daily driver:

They feel really nice, smooth texture.  Just as good as the BSP dyesubs imo.  I prefer their texture over the imsto PBT.

Dianoda if you ever decide to sell that code key I'd love to take it off your hands!
