How do you determine if one has removable key caps (i.e. caps + stem)?  Did IBM officialy made one with a grey logo?

The key caps come off pretty easily if I remember correctly. Don't know about the grey logo.

According to the table on wikipedia there are at least two different versions of the space saver. Model no. 1391472 has two-part keys and grey logo, model no. 1397681 has single-part keys and blue logo. The keys are removable in any case.

Are you sure the 1391472 has 2-piece keys (stem and cap)?

No, I'm not sure. The wikipedia table says so. You could browse through clickykeyboards space saver section and do some analysis. One random 1391472 I just picked out did *not* have two-piece keys.

No.  This is one they assembled new from old stock for me.  It had never been IBM-badged.
