Who knows a lot about cherry switches?
« on: Mon, 02 February 2009, 13:48:24 »
I just came across some in a local shop. The part number is MX1AC1NW and they have white plungers. They're tactile but not clicky. I thought these were supposed to be brown or "tea" colored? If so why are these white?

Does anybody know the cherry part number for the brown ones?
If it's not ALPS it's crap!

Wouldn't say I know much, but anyway.

The MX1AC... switches are the indeed the white or "clear" stem ones, those are the ones that are tactile (like the blues) but have no click (not like the blues). The brown you are looking for is "G".

Nice find, by the way.

Clear stem is normal weight, soft tactile. Brown stem is "ergonomic" soft tactile. IIRC, clears are 60 g, browns are 55 g.

Do you know what the force on the blacks are, by way of comparison? These feel stiffer than the blacks.

Operating force of black/linear is 60cN. Tactile force of clear stem is 65cN which might explain why they feel stiffer. Operating force of clear stem is 55cN, browns are 45cN.
