Do people really use trackpoint these few days?
Avid trackpoint users will tell you how good and accurate it is compared to touchpad(s). I personally have always used mouse + keyboard, but I can see this design being extremely convenient when you don't have space to use a mouse.
To me, trackpoint to touchpad is what vim home row navigation to dedicated cursor keys. After some learning curve, the need imposed by latter to move hand away for such pervasive task as navigation just feels silly.
Having said that, not all trackpoints are created equal. Love Lenovo, hate Dell; Endura pro's trackpont was also a let-down.
Let's hope this board's trackpoint is as good as Lenovo; the board is fully programmable (to put arrow keys on any home row combo WASD, ESDF, HJKL, IJKL) and has no silly dedicated cursor keys.

That would be my money-is-no-object-keyboard-nirvana.
