First Mechanical keyboard - Tips?
« on: Tue, 07 January 2014, 19:10:28 »
I finally just got my first Mechanical keyboard, a Ducky Shine 3 with blue cherry mx switches, from massdrop.  I took way to long to get here, but that's another story.  Anyway, I was wondering if you guys had any tips for a first time Mechanical keyboard owner.  Any sort of help would be appreciated.

I read an interesting note that you should play some sort of 'typing game' with it to help get used to it, and also to help 'break in' the keys. Apparently from-the-factory things may not be fully seated, there may be some rough plastic edges within the switches, etc, and just 'using it' help to rub everything down and seat things.

Try o-rings.  I really enjoy red 0.2mm from wasd keyboards with my blue switches.  You can get a sampler kit from them.
