[TRADE] My clear springs for your blue/red/brown springs
« on: Sat, 11 January 2014, 10:27:04 »
As per title I have 190 clear springs here, looking to swap for some lighter ones of equal quantities. Send me a PM if you can help.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Hi Bueller

How come you need to trade your clear springs? Are you making ergo clears?

I definitely can trade, but am not sure what use I will have for clear springs. Never tried them on black or blue stems before, though. Will clear springs make Cherry browns more like clears? If I can find a reason to try, I will definitely be happy to trade!

Most of the modding can be done on your own once you break through the psychological barriers.

Would you take springs from originative?  I don't have any stock MX springs to trade at the moment  :(.  I was thinking to use clear springs on blue switches to make a sort of ghetto greens.  I have a suspicion they will feel even better than black springs.

Considering how many Brown/Red/Blue switches and springs are made compared to Clears, it makes me believe there must be a way to buy 104 springs without the switches, right?  Are there no extra springs manufactured or no other manufacturers?

I too have a Cherry MX Clear keyboard and am curious how it'll be if I convert it to Ergo Clears.

I would but only 62g.

Yeah I'm changing all mine over for ergo clears. I haven't tried clear springs with Brown's personally, maybe someone else can chime in.

No.... please for the love of god do not do clear springs with browns. The reason for making ergo-clears is for the lighter spring and the increased sense of tactility that it provides.

Browns with clear springs would make it feel even more like a linear switch, it would basically just feel like a black with a tiny tiny tiny tiny bump.

It's worse than that.  It feels like a dirty and scratchy Black.  I knew it would be bad, but I just tried it anyways and it's the worst spring and stem combo I could think of.

Yeah this trade is probably more aimed at people with looking to swap out red springs for something heavier I suppose.
