anyone know this switch used for?

I have a Monterey K104 keyboard, the xt/at switch have a third position with the letter "S"
Anyone knows it used for?

thanks for the answers  ;). i have been investigating and is probably for sun computer that used a different keyboard protocol than at/xt.
