Looking for PBT/TKL keyboard.
« on: Wed, 15 January 2014, 06:25:27 »
Hello guys, first time posting here.
I'm looking for a TKL keyboard with PBT keycaps, i know there is The leopold fc700r and the Ducky DK9087G2 PRO, but i was wondering if other KB like that exist (like the Ducky DK9087G2 PRO with printed caps would be perfect )
I also want to know if there is a ducky shine 2 TKL version with white keycaps ?
Thanks ! :thumb:

There are some threads here stating the quality and craftmanship of the keycool keyboard.
You may try the search and decide yourself how the quality is. :)) :))

I'll put my vote in for the FC700R. I have a review of it here.

My G2 Pro came with printed ABS caps. If they're available with PBT caps, they should be available with printed, not only blanks. Ducky PBT caps are pretty good, medium thickness like the Keycool ones.

IMHO, Keycool are good value for money. Ducky is a little higher quality, but also higher price.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Really now? I was of the impression (judging by all that I've heard and MK) that all Ducky G2 Pros use thick PBT only.
For the S2 with white keycaps, you're out of luck there for stock white printed keycaps, but there are lots of places where you can get blanks or printed caps of higher quality.

I was going to suggest the Keycool, also. They have medium-thick PBT, which is rough (I like the texture personally, and if you don't, it does wear away with some use) compared to Ducky's smooth.
Sorry I didn't help too much!

KeyCool 87 is fine - nothing at all wrong with mine, and it is still going strong.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
