So did you have to send it off for repair?

If I bought another topre board it'd be one like this.

Also good luck with trade!

Don't think it's a downgrade.

from Topre to G80-1800, you've got to like Cherry switches. Seems most Topre folks will never give up their topres.

I personally had an 1800 and did not like it at all. Remember, the right hand side is just one huge undifferentiated matrix of keys. This makes it surprisingly hard to get your page up, or your delete, or your numpad asterix/ multiply sign correctly typed.

It took me a lot of effort to get rid of the 1800 and I don't have one to sell anymore. Was a trifle disappointed to find that geekhackers value the 1800 so much - after all, I no longer have one to sell!

Thanks!  It works perfectly and doesn't need repair... unless I am reading that wrong.  Ideally, I would like to find a 1800 to buy and work something out with you on the RF.

Don't think it's a downgrade.

Probably not the best choice of word that is why I put it in quotations... it is more or less a compromise.  Your 1800 is very, very good looking.

I like Cherry switches... just in different ways than Topre.  The looks of a board are just as important to me as feel.  The 1800 has a really nice layout and some of the variants are undeniably awesome looking.  The layout doesn't really concern me with the numpad because I rarely do calculations just raw number input.

I personally own a 104UB-DK and Amble is the guy who helped me find it.

It is a great board! I also own a Realforce 87U 45g uniform and typing on the 104UB-DK is exactly the same (Unlike the Type Haven, which I also owned & agree it's quality sucks compared to "true" Realforce keyboards). I needed something with a numpad for work, and prefer black: this fit the bill perfectly! If you are looking for 45g uniform Topre this is the board to get - I'm tempted to try to buy Amble's as a backup for myself, but I do not have any of the boards he is looking for. Who knows maybe he will take $ or other trade - PM me Amble!

To anyone else considering this offer: the board he is offering is awesome & I believe his will be in great shape. He got his a few days before I got my own.

Good luck Amble and congrats to anyone who may get this board from him in a trade!

Amble, mbc has what you want. http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=53755.0

I think the main difficulty is with shipping from Europe. But I"m sure you can work something out!

Still looking for one of these beauties.  Passed on the white one mbc had because I prefer black more than anything.

I found a source for a board, but it has lasered POM keycaps.  I am still looking for a WoB doubleshot set.

Definitely need a new set.  Ones with wear are usually from POS boards... those things can get pretty gummy.

Still looking for trade offers... will consider reasonable offers for the Realforce.
