When I go to Tokyo, I'm going to look around Akihibara for electronics stores to find keyboards. This ripster guide might be handy too.

So besides the stores that are in ripster's guides and me wandering around Akihibara, does anyone know where a good place to get keyboards in Tokyo is?

Edit: Was watching a Kendama USA video, and saw Spingear mentioned. Definitely going to hit that up for a new kendama.

Depending on where you guys decide to meet in SF, I might be able to make the drive out.

Also, unless you know how to read chinese, the keyboard hell store is not very easy to find.
It's located in the "Akihibara" like neighborhood of hong kong.

When I was in Hong Kong last christmas I bought two G80-3000 w/ clears from him HKD $699 each.
He opens late (officially 3pm) but that day he ended up opening at 3:45pm

Luckily there are a lot of electronics store to stroll near by.
If you look at the google map, you can take MTR exit Sham Shui Po, there is a "Golden Centre" right next to it.

The lower floor sells peripherals (Lots of USB cables, I made the mistakes of picking up 4 colorful ones and then later realized it's not mini-USB, but micro-USB, bummer).

The upper level sells games, consoles etc.

There is another entrance to another section that sell PCs, graphics cards, hard drives, etc.


Also, there are tons of delicious, cheap street food near by. Just see what the locals get and try some of them.

As for milk tea, you're in luck, there is one "tea restaurant" across the street that have got michelin star for it's milk tea/ coffee.

And it's super cheap if you can get a combo meal to go with it.

What was that about Germany in 2015?  I can do that one, if anybody else is interested.  I might do a Japan trip later this year, if I can convince the wife to go there this summer, instead of the stupid Hamptons.  boo Hamptons.  Bunch of rich phonies in Range Rovers.  Who needs that crap?

Don't go to Singapore; it's just an overpriced craphole with nothing interesting that you can't get in North Asia, unless you're talking about Indian and spicy food. And public transportation in Singapore has become very unreliable, breaking down practically every other day. Elections are two years away and there's no incentive to fix anything.

I am curious about that video. One of the guys was holding chopsticks in a very weird way - looks very un-Chinese. The only people I've seen hold chopsticks like that were small children.

We were busy being too stunned with Github's office, laughing at Haata's amazing travel stories, drinking tons of coffee, and eating to take a group picture. You'll have to trust we didn't lie . And demik didn't show up....ass.
