Tex Beetle Fn keys
« on: Wed, 22 January 2014, 18:50:56 »
I'm using a mac and the Fn keys on the Beetle would be far more useful (and consistent) if they were Command keys.  Is there  a way for me to map both of them to Command?  I have one of them mapped, but that still trips me up because I use both of them quite frequently.

Thanks guys.

You can find this information on TEX Beetle's box.

The box tells you how to map one of the keys to command.  I want both of them to be mapped to command, something I don't think is really supported.

Presumably one must use keyremap4macbook or something similar.

Information means you can find the web-site from BOX, then send your request to them.

Maybe Justin can provide you firmware for MAC version such as he sent to me.
Help them to try this layout :D

I have a Tex Beetle and I wish it had this feature.

In fact, before I bought it I thought it might (and I was willing to gamble knowing it was risky) because on the back diagram there were L6 and L7 lights that weren't represented in the diagram. Because the diagram only covers the left side of the keyboard, I thought maybe one of those would change the Fn key on the right side. Unfortunately I didn't notice that on the front side there are no keys for L6 or L7 (they are labeled on the front side, possibly not easily visible in the photos).
Current: RF 87U 45g, Keycool 84 White w/ Browns, Noppoo Choc Mini Black w/ Browns, Thinkpad X220

Sold: RF 87U Ergo, TEX Beetle w/ Blues, Noppoo Choc Mini Black w/ Reds, Truly Ergonomic w/ Browns, Kinesis Advantage, Kinesis Freestyle, TypeMatrix, Das Keyboard w/ Blues

L6/L7 don't exist now, that's my first question to TEX, too.
Fortunately, this keyboard's micro controller can be updated via USB. (cortex-M3 series)
It's possible to have layout customizing. I always remind Justin to perform this feature. :D
