Hello,
what do you think about DUCKY zero tkl, good boar to start with?
why it is so cheap compared to other mech tkl's, and is it plate mounted?

Yes it's plate mounted. I think it's just a Ducky Shine 3 without the 'Shine' part aka fancy backlighting, which makes it more affordable. :) Sure it's a good starter keyboard, nothing wrong with it, as far as I can tell.

I think it has the correct price. It is not cheap. Ducky Shine and Ducky G2Pro are high-mid-end keyboards whereas Ducky Zero is mid-low-end keyboard. It is supposed to be cheaper than Shine and G2 Pro - Ducky flagship, as well as Filco Majestouch 2.
You can see some parts can help Ducky reduce the price:
+ Ducky Zero is manufactured by Ducky factory in China
+ It has non-removable USB cable
+ USB connector is not gold-plated

Nevertheless, it is a good plate-mounted keyboard that you can start with. It has a very good dual-layer PCB which is better than CM QFR. However, it is more expensive than Cooler Master QFR Rapid (its main competitor) in general.

Zero is the low-end of ducky keyboard series

Why ?
The plastic material of the board is so different among the other ducky series, looks very cheap

I would personally recommend the Ducky Shine 3s -- the back lighting is very cool. :)
