My grandfather gave me this watch, I'll probably get another one after I finish my degree.

Had it re-banded today w/ 100% alligator skin  :) and put in a new battery. The face is getting a little scuffed from use so I might have to break out the buffing wheel

Awesome shots man, the blue really pops, but still looks modest. I particularly like the final shot, that gold frame is really nice.

Also, anyone with an alligator strapped watch, does the leather crack at the grooves quickly? Or is it stronger than regular leather? I'm kinda worried that it will split

Thank you!

I think it will depend on the leather treatment, if the coloring process and treatment is proper, it would last you a long time
this is where price and brand do justice

Classics.  Love the Casio--brings back memories of my Armitron calc watch back in high school.  I wore the buttons out on it so I had to use my pencil, lol.

But I never actually used it for school work, so I wonder how I wore it out now...

I have had issues with my leather strap on my Tissot, but a lot of people have been saying how bad the strap is compared to the watch.

Girlfriend just bought me a Skagen :3 Silver strap and body, blue face. So excited :D

:(  How cruel!  She shouldn't have told you then!

We once bought the complete voltron toys (the big ones) for Christmas.  Because my brother and I essentially bought our own gifts, we were opening them and and repackaging them every day until Christmas. ;) hint hint, lol.

sorry, not a great photo - my 1968 cyma mechanical watch, bought new by my father with the proceeds of his first job
i love how slim it is - it's like some sort of retro swatch sort of profile. I've not seen many other red marble faced watches either.
Also - roman numerals go I II III IV V not I II III IIII V ! always seemed kind of strange.

Very nice!

I was travelling a few days ago and saw these beauties in person at the Doha airport along with an actual Mclaren mp4-12c right beside them.

I've never been a real watch guy, but I do like how these pieces incorporate my favorite elements from my other love--cars.  Too bad they cost as much as cars.

That's beautiful. Puts me in mind of my old Omega Seamaster which unfortunately got stolen when my house got broken into a year ago. Similar profile (and similar era!)

Even though I'm not a fan of watch faces that cover the entire wrist, these were remarkably well-balanced on the hand and the titanium on the mp4-12c was a very masculine matte finish with still some texture to it.  A very nice piece.  I had no idea how much these type of watches cost at the time.  Imagine my sticker shock when he told me how much!

A classic Timex my mother in law gave me to wear at an event here in India.  It's not gold, but stainless steel, which I found quite interesting.

I have a Seiko Kinetic SKA557.  I got it fairly cheap since its discontinued and a lot of vendors still have some stock left.

It's my daily driver, then i have a cheap timex expedition for a beater watch that i acctually like quite a bit.

Love the basic face on this! How does that strap feel after a long day? I only use leather right now but have seen that tweedy material being used on a lot of minimalist watches lately, am afraid to take my chances and hate the strap :p

Well on the underside it's leather. I have very very skinny wrists so I can't get a perfect fit and keep it a little loose. But overall I don't mind wearing it all day

I think it'll be fine, my 45mm makes my  wrist look tiny. But thanks for the number, I'll measure my wrist.

Just to add some lub for PVD and florescent yellow green. It is UV reactive!
I believe I posted this as the world's ugliest watch before, and it is riding on Z22, after being on beige aviator strap for awhile.

It's not much, but it's the base Seiko 5 watch I have wanted to mod for quite some time. I wanted a polished case and a 4 o'clock crown to mod. I present to you, my Seiko SNK 795!

Any suggestions for who to have mod it for me? As much as I'd like to crack the case open and try it, I think I might want to pay to have this one done.

Looks like something PunksDead might have made!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The blue dial is the platinum one which is 72k haha.

Ive always wanted the dark side speedy but they are also double the price of this watch. Was thinking either the new moonwatch chrono or this.

Yes, please!! Get it. Lovely watch. The Speedmaster is my grail watch, but I would still gladly pick up a Seamaster or Railmaster if I had the funds and the price was right.

The blue dial is the platinum one which is 72k haha.
And I thought my taste in keyboards and cars was expensive!

Not that I don't appreciate fine watches and precious metals, I just prefer my watches to be made with more durable material. You know, like stainless steel. Titanium and ceramics are ok, but requires more babying ;o

Im not really a smartwatch kind of person, but i really like some of the garmin fenix watches... i wouldn't use enough of it's features to justify the price though, maybe if i get more serious into road biking.

I have two friends and a co-coach with a Fenix. They are HUGE. That's the main reason I wouldn't get one. One of my friends is getting a Forerunner 630. I can't wait to see that. If it's a reasonable size, I might consider it.

The Fenix is incredible though. So many cool features. I could really use it for my trekking/hiking, keeping GPS tabs on my running (my Forerunner 610 broke), and getting phone updates. I just couldn't see myself wearing it on my small wrist all day. It looks like I'm wearing the watch from Spy Kids....
