my wife worked for PM for about 6 years, it was actually why we moved to the nice horribly redneck state of virginia. Even then tho, this company imo was very progressive, at least in taking care of its' employees. For instance (this is in 2001) they allowed your partner healthcare as long as they lived in the same address as you for 6months. Whats this mean? and why was it worded so funny? they tried to allow their gay employees to give benefits to their partners by just using a "living in" rule.
They also probably have the best dental plan, as in 99% covered, but i'm pretty sure thats because they want their own employees, who happen to use their own products to have nice white teeth. (they covered my wisdom teeth removal easily)
They also have this september event (i think?) where they rent out kings dominion, a theme park, that's right they rent out the whole damn park for the day, and employees and their families are allowed in.
Not only that (they stopped this recently) but they used to give each family member $20 vouchers as well (for food/games)
This has RUINED, ANY enjoyment i can and forever will have at ANY theme park since. Imagine not having to wait in line for anything (or at most 5minutes) and if you want to go on the ride again, you basically run back and just ride it like nothing.
They also have cigarette dispensing machines, i forget if it was either 1 a week or 1 pack a day you can get for free with a badge swipe.
ANYWAY, my wife is an engineer, so she was in the process from leaf (she actually went out to the farms and harvested and dried crops, since she was engineering a new "strain") to final product...
she even has a patent on a process (a team patent), i of course will not say much...
but with what i know, you couldn't pay me enough to smoke a pack a month for life.
