I started reading up on mechanical keyboards after realizing that my work keyboard was a piece of crap and I needed a replacement.  Considering I spend a ton of time typing for work, I figured a nice keyboard would be an investment.

Now I'm interested in cherry mx blue switches in a tkl board.  I can't use something too flashy since I work in a fairly conservative work environment in a conservative job (lawyer), so I'm looking for something without backlighting and a ton of branding.  Otherwise I would have orange and blue key caps (I still may later on).

Thinking about CM QFR for a first board.  I'm a bit worried about cherry blues being too loud, but I guess I can always shut my office door or even get those o-rings.

Hi, and welcome! QFR is a great starter keyboard. :) Blues are pretty loud, but it shouldn't be a problem if you have your own office.

Welcome. I type blues with black springs (ghetto greens) at work, but I do have my own office and noise isn't an issue for me. Also a lawyer. I do keep the colors fairly conservative though. Actually when people hear or type on my kb they usually have a positive comment.

Also, you said orange and blue and I was excited for a second and then noticed your name contains "gator". I am orange and blue, but for Auburn. Welcome anyway I guess ;-)
Oh and QFR blue is a good choice I think. Love mine.

Nice to hear from a fellow lawyer.  I gotta say I'm extremely disappointed with Auburn for letting that game slip away from them.  Nothing I hate more than FSU winning the natty in the way that they did, i.e., perfect season, heisman winning qb, demolished UF, won the natty over an SEC team in the final BCS game.  Perfect nightmare scenario for any UF fan.  So sad....but at least the Gators are doing it big on the hardwood again. :)

I've been doing my homework here and QFR seems like a good choice atm.
