Hi friends
So back a couple months ago, I decided that I wanted to try and get a detachable cable for my Filco Majestouch 2. Unfortunately I don't have a soldering iron and I have never soldered before. So I then went looking for kits. Although I found a couple that are kits online, I didn't really want to invest in a cable that was $30 from the UK or from the US (since postage to Australia is pretty expensive). But then I came across an old thread which was closed by a moderator, stating that another user called MonoSky was selling a replacement cable with the molex for the Filco at one end, and a female mini USB at the other.
So I decided to message him, thinking that my luck wouldn't be too great since the thread was started months before I messaged him. But, to my surprise, he replied and was selling them for only $10, instead of the $30 that I would have had to pay from other sources. Postage to AU was $5, which I thought was beyond reasonable so I decided to buy from him.
Just before I messaged him though, I had to go overseas, and I sent the package to the house of a friend. Now that I'm back and I've met with the friend, I've finally replaced the cable (only 2 months after it arrived, and 1 month after I returned from my holiday!).
So I had 2 screwdrivers, one was used to remove the 3 screws that held the board together. The other was a super tiny one that I found that was used to disconnect the molex plug from the PCB. Then just replaced the cable, put it together and the rest is history. Did some fiddling with the position of the cable within the case though, since on a couple occasions when reassembling the board, there was a bulge at the bottom. Though this was easily fixed when I realised that there was a thicker part of the cable that was creating it. So I shifted that part of the cable to the bottom of the case where there is more room between the case and the PCB. Problem solved

Also the female end of the port is obviously protruding in my keyboard. But what you can do, is if you look in the pictures, there is a small hole that is shaped like a square. If you cut the outed edge of the square, you can conceal the port so it does not protrude and make it more secure+make it look a lot better.
