Lost costar clip
« on: Wed, 19 February 2014, 10:22:55 »
I just lost a costar stabilizer clip that goes into the keycap.

There's no chance of getting some.

What should I do? Is there any tweak for a missing one?
Maybe I find it when I clean my messy floor, but is nothing sure..

Anyways pass me links from where you can buy it, if its cheap enough I may import some.

You can buy them from WASD for $0.50/2 inserts.

Unless its on a space bar it might not even be that necessary.

Wasd doesn't have free shipping.

You're going to be hard-pressed to find free international shipping. Keyboardco sells them as well, but for 2 quid per set of 2. Shipping might make it worth it though depending in where you are.

McGuyver the **** out of that stab... it's cheap, it's free, and you don't have to wait for shipping.

You just have to figure out how you're going to accomplish that, and using what materials.

I'm not that ingenious. Maybe someone on the forum knows a fix

In all seriousness I've been using a costar stabilized board for two days with only a stabilizer on the space bar and have noticed no difference on any of the other keys.

Do what Ray indirectly suggests and swap out the stab from one of the shorter stabilized keys. Then remove all the stabs on all keys shorter than your shift keys, and see what they feel like. As Ray said, they might not need the stabs...

I can throw one of these into an envelope with a flat rate international shipping stamp and for a few bucks you'll have one.

However, I'd reccomend contacting WASD directly and see if they can work something out for you. One or two of these wouldn't even weigh an ounce.

If you or someone could send me a pair of them for free by personal post or something like that, I would be soo happy.

I actually almost ordered one to fill up an order large enough for WASD to ship to me. But sadly, no. And as far as anyone is concerned, this post is useless. I am sorry.
