DIY Cherry switch tester?
« on: Sat, 22 February 2014, 11:31:48 »
I was wondering if anywhere sells a kit to make your own tester? Most places dont seem to ship to the uk. That or they're constantly sold out.

That and most only have 4-6 switches where I would like to try a bunch before grabbing a poker 2 and then swaping switches if I find one I love.

Currently using mx blacks on a 6gv2 steelseries so the idea of blue and brown being lighter kinda worries me. So I would love to try out some white, clear and green switchs and maybe some custom ones to try and find my perfect switch.

Thanks in advance peeps :D

I recently got a QWER tester via a mass drop. They are apparently located in the UK, which should make it good for you. It included 6 switches: blue, green, white, red, black, and brown. Apparently they're planning an 8 key version which include a clear switch and something else.

It's really easy to pop switches in and out of the board for testing. I bought a few clears and blues to experiment on. (Not sure where you would source those in the UK.) The QWER plate makes a great platform to do it.

So check it out, TFR made his own switch tester. You can buy these plates off eBay then just pop MX switches into them. I have one myself.
