M0110 Springs

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the correct place, but I just got my hands on an apple M0110 for $2 at a local pawn shop (it's in great condition and everything works  ) and I was wondering what springs would fit in the switches. I'm thinking of doing a mod like this http://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/the-apple-m0110-today-t1067.html, but I'm not sure what would fit, and I really don't like the current weight. I think you will likely have to get custom made springs. I think all the ALPS tee mount switches used the same spring.

You could maybe get something you like by cutting a few loops off the spring.

I have the Apple M0120, you can use some springs from other Alps, you don't need special ones. They will not have the same weight but they fit. You can't use MX compatible springs btw.

There's tons of white alps out there which themselves are not bad, I'm just saying they're common, so they are cheap. I would recommend getting some just for harvesting the springs. I can do a weight comparison with the normal springs if you want.

The solution is already in the thread, actually:

Replacement springs from a Dell AT. I measured 60grams to fully press the switch before the spring mod, 41grams after. I used the coins I had in my pocket, then put them on a precision scale.

Dell AT = Bigfoot.

Yup, this was in the original post, and those M0110 switches are HEAVY.  I also have a M0110 sitting around, and the bag of black ALPS switches is going to be the donor springs if I ever get around to doing something with it.
