My 122-Key Lynk Keyboard Came In Today

Pretty interesting little device. Below are my initial thoughts as well as some quick pictures I took.

It is most definitely NOT an IBM Model F clone. Sorry. I have never owned an M-122 but I bet it's more similar to that. Quality feels on par with my UK-Made Model M.

It almost certainly IS an M122. It's just rebranded to Lynk, but still made by IBM.

Is it a rebranded Lexmark?

Looks really fresh and pristine. Jelly of those function keys!

Yeah man, it appears to be brand new. It came with some funny instruction manuals.

Now for the sad part... I haven't plugged it in or anything yet, but the key feel... Isn't in the same universe as my Aircraft Carrier.

You can always tell a person who has used a Model M but not a Model F - they imagine that the two are similar.

Yeah man. I went out on a ledge and believed you before buying an F, but damn I am glad I did. Don't get me wrong the M's are decent enough. But once you've driven a Ferrari Enzo you never want to go down to a Corvette.

I have not tried an M in 15 years, but I am so in love with my F's now. I went back to my Filco (that I loved for a year) for a few minutes this weekend and it just felt wrong. My left pinky was smashing my shift key while running in my game to the point it was hurting.


I just can't go back now!

Dude. Same here. Not sure if I can post this but it's like going from using a "raincoat" to not using one. LOL.

I have not tried it yet, my good sir. Since the one in my Model F is internal, I will look into making one up to test the Lynk KB for you guys.

Aren't the cases the exact same except for the logo?

Also, I really do not want to make a converter. I have tried soldering in the past and ended up burning myself. If anyone in here will make me one, I'll pay them.

I have some of these and they are most definitely a rebranded Lexmark Keyboard.  I think at one point I saw a lexmark keyboard with the same part number on ebay and the "LX" that it starts that model number with is kind of a hint at that as well.  There is a sticker over the main IC, but if you remove it, it says Lexmark on it.  Picture attached.  Seems to have something different about the output though, only about 1 in 20 key presses registers with Soarer's converter.  Pull up resistors didn't help, so not sure what to try next.
