Lego Case
« on: Sat, 29 March 2014, 19:26:14 »
Hey guys. I bought a Poker II a little while back, but I got it dirt cheep since it had no case. I promptly fixed that. ;D
It's still a work in progress, but I like it a ton. If you want to here me go a little more in depth on it, you can check it out on my site. LINK
Also, ignore the potato pics, I gave up on fixing my camera, so I'm using my HTC One.

Sweet :)

Lego wrist rest on the way?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Already in the works. :D Just have to find some more slanted pieces so the bumps on the bricks don't dig into my wrists.

Really digging the case Vibex.  One of noko's gray stained leather rests would look incredibruuuu with it :D
60% keyboards, 100% of the time.

"What the hell Jimmy?!  It was ruined before you even put it up there with your decrepit fingers."

I've thought about making one. Did you just put a cherry stem inside the 1 stud cylinder on the bottom of the brick? Or did you cut that part of and just glue the cherry stem to the bottom?

I removed the cylinder stud inside the 2x2 brick and then superglued a keycap stem from an unused keycap inside.

I had to sand do the bottom of the 2x2 brick a bit since it wouldn't clear the top of the mx switch.

Okay, I'll get to work on that.

Some tips:

The quickest way to remove the cylinder in the lego brick is with a dremel.  Just be careful with your fingers.

Get the placement of the brick right before you super glue the stem.  It helps if you have an extra loose switch to mount the donor stem to for trial placement/fitting.

Lastly, make sure you get the "LEGO" text on the studs of the brick are the right side up before you super glue...it totally sucks to have the perfectly placed stem but then the "LEGO" text is upside down (true story) hehe

Thanks! ;D
I have a few other things I'm working on right now, but I'll definitely give this a try.
