Free Heart Keycap?
« on: Tue, 01 April 2014, 20:11:46 »
I'm not exactly sure what this is supposed to be. It's part of Tanga's April Fools day theme, but it seems to indicate a free heart keycap, no shipping costs.

I ordered one, fingers crossed  :)

I think it's legit, but I can't be certain till the key arrives.

Nothing in the description or details says anything about a key cap. I'm thinking it's just a stock photo, and you guys ordered some for free "love" to be sent your way. I hope I'm wrong though!

they're paying for shipping, doesn't seem like that profitable of a prank

If it's a prank, nothing physical will be shipped at all because you can't package "love."

It seemed like he was trying to make sure that he could actually use it before he just grabbed it because it was free -- seems the opposite of greedy to me. :P

In any case, sold out now. :(

All I got was a lot of spam email lol.  Looking back at it, no where on that site does it say it's a key cap.  It's just a picture of a key cap.  Misleading.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I demand a refund...

Charge them by the seconds it took to fill out the form!

At $7.25/hour for minimum wage, each second is worth $0.0020138888. I'll give it about 4 seconds to load the webpage, 5 seconds to skim it, 10 seconds to decide if this was legit, and another 20 seconds to fill out the form and wait for that page to load. We're talking a solid $0.07854166666 here.

And then another minute to type up this post, and then another few minutes to browse through this thread...

I feel very cheated
