bump. These are basically brand new. Taken out of the box to do the mod, and then have just been sitting on my desk. Probably less than a few hours of total listening time since I got them at the end of Feb.

how is the fit with the audio-technicas? any trouble with them falling off?

They were a good fit for me. I didn't have the sliding down issue that some people talk about. I have a small head and big ears.

But if you tie the wings together (rubber band or shoestring mod), you can customize the fitment even more in terms of how high or low they sit and how much clamp force you want.

If they were $125 shipped (because I'm a cheap bastard) I'd do it.  Even if I had to meet in Fullerton and buy them a beer at $125, I'd probably do it.  I'm not a huge audiophile and am perfectly content with my ATH-AD700s, but they are such sexy headphones.
