How much volt are those insane bright Xenon LEDs on the FILCO (and SteelSeries) boards? Want to swap them for anything softer, I already own a Led-Lenser...

Ah, the classic "blindingly bright blue LEDs" issue. Always good for a rant.

It's not a matter of voltage, that doesn't vary all too much for one specific type of light. (Should be about 3 V or thereabouts for blue.) It's the current that matters. Possibly they're using contemporary high efficiency LEDs and rule-of-thumb'd the series resistors wrong. Can you find those and identify their value? If so, try like 4 or 5 times that.
Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

I don't find them too bright, but I don't stare down into them, either.  From a normal angle, they look fine.  The green ones in my G80-3000 are pretty bright, too, but there is a matte finish to the lens, so it's not as glaring.

They don't bother me at all unless I put my head directly over them and stare down at them.  Once I convinced myself to stop doing that, they haven't been all that bad.

Yeah, I want to put red LEDs in mine, but I'm not sure if I want to risk damaging the board.  I'll start with the Unicomp Spacesaver, when I buy it...

I'm not copying!  I made up my mind to do it before ripster got to it first! :D

Joking apart, some people have very sensitive eyes, like me for instance LOL. If I went out with no protection on a sunny day, my vision is heavily stained for hours at sundown to the point I can't drive my car or bike anymore.

Yeah I know what you mean. I have exactly the same problem with sun or strong direct light.
Please excuse my poor English.

I have tenkeyless so when that flash hits my eyes I know I hit the wrong key.

This is a good point.  How often are the caps lock and scroll lock LEDs on?  On my keyboards with a numpad, the Num Lock is always on, but I don't think that the Caps Lock and Scroll Lock LEDs would even be used enough to harm your vision.

Damn, ripster, I can tell you've been posting far too much. The spacebars on your pretty new Filcos are already shiny.
